Not yet at least. Selling players at a profit allows you to keep the investment in the team going. Couple this with a good scouting strategy, and you can go from strength to strength. the past 2 years we have been buying talent at a young age, at low prices. we should expect some outgoings - at much profit. But we must re-invest this into the playing squad. Say we make 4x on Guehi than we paid for him, we can get 2 or 3 new players in, and still have some left over, whilst building our squad. This will also somewhat aleiviate the 'Out Of contract' issues, as we should always have someone in the wings to step in. Palace populated the squad with older senior players with little or no sell on value. I think the hope is that the Academy unearths the occasional gem that can go into the first team and if good enough, attracts a high transfer fee from one of the big boys. At the moment I think Guehi, Andersen, Eze and Olise are where funds could be raised I’m still hopeful of a summer spend this year, although one of the above may have to be sold to partially fund it Old, Ungifted and White

I think the hope is that the Academy unearths the occasional gem that can go into the first team and if good enough, attracts a high transfer fee from one of the big boys.

At the moment I think Guehi, Andersen, Eze and Olise are where funds could be raised

I’m still hopeful of a summer spend this year, although one of the above may have to be sold to partially fund it

Yes, i hope that if we stay up we, if needed, sell one, and keep the other three, Guehi would be my choice, 70m if possible, should get 3/4 decent players with that, and Wilfs 130k a week will help cover the wages.

Where they get that figure from who knows? In any event, you may recall that there was a clause in the purchase agreement that Chelsea have the right to match any offer from another club if we decided to sell the player.

The clickbait rumours are talking in terms of Spurs needing to pay £45m+ if they want to prise Guehi away. Where they get that figure from who knows? In any event, you may recall that there was a clause in the purchase agreement that Chelsea have the right to match any offer from another club if we decided to sell the player.

My sentiments were not prognostications, I am certainly not 'Mystic Willo'.
It is just the model of plausibility that some of the scenarios could turn out to be the actualite.

You must live in Fantasyland. Only top 6 teams would look at that as a figure to spend, and they don't need him.

Assuming we stay in the league, the Summer window is going to require a lot of activity to replace the dead wood moving on. Realistically we are going to be needing 4-5 players. If I were Parish and co, losing Guehi in this window wouldn't be ideal, as with a new faces coming in, you'd probably want some some structure to build around. Therefore IMO £45 isn't enough, it needs to be closer to the £60m. Which in todays market isn't bad for a 22yr old England international who (by then) will have 70 PL appearances. But we cant be scared of that, we need to sell players to progress the club, if we can sell a few for 4x what we paid for them, it will help us progress things more quickly.

Assuming we stay in the league, the Summer window is going to require a lot of activity to replace the dead wood moving on.

Realistically we are going to be needing 4-5 players.

If I were Parish and co, losing Guehi in this window wouldn't be ideal, as with a new faces coming in, you'd probably want some some structure to build around.

Therefore IMO £45 isn't enough, it needs to be closer to the £60m. Which in todays market isn't bad for a 22yr old England international who (by then) will have 70 PL appearances.

But we cant be scared of that, we need to sell players to progress the club, if we can sell a few for 4x what we paid for them, it will help us progress things more quickly.
