Richards is bench warming because PV is not flexable enough in his formation to include 3 centre backs .

Hughes appears to be a sicknote and has to have a fortnight off after playing 90 minuites so PV only uses him as sub to keep him availiable (I made that up )

yes I thought the same thing could have used all 3 in the man city briiii arsenal games and go from there Guehi and Richards are quick so give abit of room for attacking wing backs .

look we seemed better than we have been , well short but better , Doucoure is playing like a old style midfielder sadly you cant do that now days , look easter is coming so maybe our strikers will rise from the dead and start scoring , with on paper easier matchs coming we can get a couple of wins before then please God COYP

Sooner or later the board will have a decision to make if results continue in the same vein.
This could be after the Arsenal game , after which there is the international break, or after the subsequent Leicester game on April 1.
This assumes results don’t improve .
The international break gives a fortnight to bed in a new manager assuming (and it’s a big assumption) that we have a suitable manager lined up.
The board would be negligent not to act as ultimately it’s a results business and the results have been woeful post World Cup.
I’d be very surprised if work wasn’t already going on behind the scenes to identify potential replacements.
Not what I particularly want as Viera seems a very likeable character, and I understand why people are making excuses ( not backed by the board, tough run of fixtures, winnable games coming up) , but that won’t count for anything if the poor run of results continue.

I meant to add we’ve had too many false dawns post Christmas.
Firstly we reassured ourselves we’d sort out the midfield problems when McArthur returned, then when Hughes had a couple of decent games, then when we brought in a couple during the window.
Sadly the lack of discipline of Doucoure, the continuing fitness struggles of Hughes and McArthur and Eze going missing means we’re as badly off as before.
We told ourselves that the return of Zaha would make us more potent.
Sadly this hasn’t happened so far either.
We continue to be at or near the bottom for the metrics on goal scoring, efforts on goal, running and sprints.

A lot of similar stuff to this on Twitter. Read into it what you will but I find it a bid odd only now it is a talking point:

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

I see no point in replacing him after the international break as it'll just be disruptive, so if they are going to do it they need to do it before or immediately after the Arsenal game (if we lose of course). Personally I'd stick with him and I think the board will. The difficulties Southampton and Leeds had finding a manager will have acted as a warning, especially after our struggles to replace Roy, plus I'm not even sure they'd want (or be able) to cover the cost of replacing Patrick!

Vieira had a strong first season and has struggled this year after a reasonable start to the season. I think we need to be brave, take a deep breath, and see what comes, but I appreciate I am in a rapidly shrinking minority.

Just in case this is perceived as me gleefully revelling, stirring or getting over excited let me be clear I am not, just posting what I've seen/been pointed to on t'internet.

Hes too Conservatives as a manager.
Hes not brave with tactics,
show little courage.
Where's the passion from the touchline
Rigid like Roy.
Like yesterday, poor 2nd half tactics from bench.
Why wont he try Andersen in the deep midfield to spray passes to pen up opportunities and bring back in Richard behind Andersen in back 4.
Crying out for change of direction on the field

The issue facing the Board is very simple,Vieira stays and we are relegated.
Change has to come after Sunday's inevitable defeat against Arsenal.

Somewhat of a crisis when the decision on the manager is now like going to the casino and trying to manage the odds! If they continue with PV, the odds are we will go down as I don't buy in to the notion that we will do better against teams in the dog fight (other than Southampton perhaps). If we wait to a poor outcome against Leicester, then the odds will have shortened considerably on relegation and a change of manager will be too hard and too late.

If we change now, the odds may also get worse, however, its game theory where the decision makers appear to be trapped in indecision like the "prisoners dilemma". The theory of strategic rationality says that the optimal course of action is to play the odds, which by definition requires a decision to change the equilibrium of the game. In other words, the status quo will more likely result in a worse outcome, because the odds cannot be changed.

I just want to see a bit of passion from him. His forwards though have let him down massively. Mateta is all legs which often seem to have a mind of their own. He never scores with his head which for such a big man is strange but can probably be explained from his poor reading of the game and positional play. Edouard is not clinical enough, goes into hiding when the going gets tough and you don’t expect him to score.

Dougie Freedman and Parish must take some responsibility for these poor signings.

We are becoming the laughing stock of the Premiership.

I think we sack him and we are equally likely to go down.

I'm not sure what manager we are going to get in, who is going to get much of a better tune out of the woefully inadequate squad we have. Not many wanted the job when we hired Vieira. I don't fancy Lampard, Gerrard, Marsch or Nathan Jones. And those that think Benitez, Bielsa or Tuchel or the likes will touch us are deluded. Hassentuttl may be the best bet, but I doubt he could turn around our fortunes with the players we have.

I hope SP is also asking himself some very serious questions about how he and the rest of the board have taken the risk and now is letting the manager take the blame for their ineffectiveness.
