With recent Premier league experience and who can hit the ground running I would honestly take Hassenhuthl right now.

I see there is another article about Vieira wanting to be a role model for black coaches. Follows on from one in a similar vein in The Athletic a couple of weeks ago. He's almost daring Palace to sack him and face the outrage

If this is the case then PV at least has a sense of humour given his average (being kind) stint in football management.

I can see where you coming from and certainly in the past I would be saying the manager needed to be sacked.

When the summer transfer window ended I suspected we may be in trouble this year, as there just wasn't the business done that needed to be. So may be this year I am just slightly more sympathetic to the manager as I feel he has not been supported by the Board.

I think the other reasons that we might as well stick are that there are no outstanding candidates out there that we are likely to attract and that the fixture list has been horrific.

If there was a manager who you felt would almost certainly do better then I would also think we need to change, but I don't think there is. We could just as easily seal our relegation by appointing a new manager.

All true but I just think keeping Vieira means we are going down - look at all the performance stats and Crystal Palace are at the bottom of them since the turn of the year by most parameters. We run the least, we have had the fewest shots on target, fewest goals and we haven't won a game. It's all pointing in one direction.

Another appointment would be a gamble, yes, but holding onto Vieira seems like ensuring only one outcome.

Completely understand however my Palace affected brain tells me he'll just be a 9-0 every game failure here.

I think Jesse Marsch would be a no-no and as for Gerrard and Lampard, I'd still put them behind my cat in the preferential order.

Kompany and Carrick have both been mentioned but fall into same category as PV for me (very new managers with little experience).

Bielsa seems unlikely to even take if offered for me and gawd knows with him. He surely operates using a methodology for which this team is the antithesis.

Beyond that I really wouldn't know about who is available etc.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

I can see Dougie in a caretaker role it's a funny time to go looking for a manager.

Crossing my fingers our strikers will at last deliver for Pat.

I both don't really think he's the right manager anymore but also can't see the point in changing now.

In the run up to the international break, our 10 fixtures have been against the teams in 3rd, 5th, 3rd, 7th, 8th, 6th, 11th, 2nd, 7th, 1st. That's an average of 5.3.

Our final ten games are against the teams in 16th, 19th, 20th, 15th, 13th, 17th, 4th, 18th, 9th, 14th. An average of 14.5

There's zero point changing now and it could throw the club into turmoil, backfiring spectacularly. My view is that if Vieira was going to be given the ridiculously hard run, we might as well also give him the easy one.

All it will take is a couple of goals and suddenly the confidence will come back. We even dominated Brighton for long periods last night, we just don't have a clinical striker and haven't really had one since promotion.

My view is we should have enough to survive and finish mid-table, there's some real dross in that run in. Let him keep us up and either invest in the bloody squad in the summer and get the players he thinks he needs, or sack him them and get in Bielsa or Hassenhutl.

Also, for the record, Kompany would be my absolute number one choice but he won't leave Burnley for us.

Or Carrick as he's doing a brilliant job with Borough. But fans including me always take it out on the manager, and nearly all get sacked in the end. But in my 'umble opinion we should stay with Vieira but back him to the hilt in the summer.

Personally I donít think it will change much by changing manager, all we can do is support, we have been in difficult places before, jus get behind the side, which the majority do, and as for slagging off Parish, best chairman we have ever had by a country mile, some on here are starting to sound like clowns supporters

I concur Pat in
Parish needs to step up & say something to the team , coach & supporters

Itís all too easy to keep sacking managers

If he is sacked & goes onto another Prem club & gets above Palace
Egg on face to the Pat out squad

If he does not @ we still place like a fumbling bunch up front then what ?

Forever Palace Proud

You are deluded, he is awful in all aspects, he should have gone months ago, he will take us down, the important thing is cut out the disease of apathy, which is running through the club, Freedman may keep us up, Vieira wont, then see the situation in the summer, Vieira will never manage a club side again.

Does anyone know the way? Did we hear someone say?
(We just haven't got a clue what to do!)

There is a deluded poster on here, who claimed that Eze would be in the top 5 players in the world. From what I can see Eze is letting Vieira down with piss poor effort and performances, along with Edouard who missed the open goal with a clear header. You cant tell me Vieira tells them to play like that.

The jury is still out on Vieira for me, but if he did go I certainly wouldn't want Dougie in charge. He had a brief period where he did well for us over a decade ago, was sacked from his next two jobs and has never managed in the Premier League, or even coached or managed at all in seven years. Plus I highly doubt he'd even want the job.

If Vieira were to go I think our options would be incredibly limited. All the old dinosaurs have retired and Dyche went to Everton. Roy would hardly be the man you'd bring into score goals and our defence already looks pretty solid. It might be preferable to try and bring in a new coach to work with the forwards rather than replacing the manager. You only have to look what Benni McCarthy has achieved at United to see that it can have a big impact.
