Oh my gawd!

Pre-contract agreement? I’d love that to spite everyone if nothing else ha

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Hopefully yesterday’s result, swiftly followed up with a win away at Leeds will allow SP and co some breathing space to carefully consider their next move. Massive decision.
Not sure about Rogers and even less so with Potter.
Maybe Favre will be interested (now that he’s had the break from football it was claimed he needed) or Bielsa? Could even be the case that Cooper or Dyche might be available by the time the season finishes.

I’m increasingly thinking Cooper might be a good fit.

Rodgers has managed big clubs in Liverpool and Celtic.
At Leicester he has achieved 2 top 5 finishes and an FA Cup win.
Perhaps he would simply not be interested in managing our club.

He would have to be excited by a challenge and a reward.. but how does he want to do it, with money or the hard way?

Football evolving but I always prefer passionate managers over calm ones..

Dyche after he gets relegated. Or maybe Cooper. Potter will go to West Ham. Good squad and big stadium. Rodger’s gonna need a break, I reckon

Not convinced about Steve Cooper, though if Forest went down then perhaps he might be the key in being able to swing it in our favour to get Brennan Johnson.

No matter who comes in, they need financial backing. If there is no backing, it will be same old same old, but without Zaha this time.

In terms of Potter, all he has done has taken Brighton to 16th, 15th and 9th in his last season.

In his 1st season at Brighton they lost 1-0 to Sheff Wed in the 3rd round of the FA Cup.
In the next season they lost in the 5th round having beaten Newport Co on penalties in the 3rd round and beating Blackpool 2-1 at home in the 4th round.

At Swansea, the club finished 10th in his only season, however they had been relegated out of the PL the previous season.

He went to Chelsea and has departed with the club 11th in the table after they finished 3rd last season.

When one looks at his overall record, it is not that overly impressive.

Agree with this. His win percentage was 31% with Brighton. Prefer not. Rather take a chance on Carrick.

Cooper came across very badly, apparently, when interviewed for the vacancy before the disastrous Vieira appointment.

A pragmatist who’ll develop players. No more half-financed projects or football philosophies based on young talent that we don’t yet have.

I don’t no why but I am not convinced either Potter or Rodgers will suit our team. I think we need to continue to look for the younger fresh manager to develop the younger group of players that we have. Neither of those guys fit that profile. Who that is I have no idea , it is easier to say who I don’t want than who we should go for.COYP

I do think we avoid vanity projects where a big name manager think they are doing us a favour (Gerrard, Lampard).

Rodgers would 100% be in that catagory. He believes himself to be an elite level coach suited to champions league level. Perhaps he is. What is certain is that whether it's managing Celtic in the champions league or post-money leicester in the Premier league, he is the wrong man if you've got average players. He cannot set a team up to play resilient, pragmatic football, only open, slick possession based stuff.

He might genuinely succeed at Barcelona, but he'd be no use to us at all, even if he didn't consider us miles beneath him.
