So looks as if Aarons is off the Bournemouth for an initial 7mil. How have we not got involved in this. Perfect opportunity for us sneek in an take him from under thier noses. Will be a great bit of business for Bournemouth. Also if the news is to be believed Spence from Spurs has been put up for sale. I'd like to think Freedman is all over it but I'm not holding out hope

I would have liked us to go for Spence, think he's got good potential and still a good age. Roy could help shore up his defensive shortcomings. Aarons at one time showed real potential but never really pushed on.

However as the poster above says, sadly I think we've settled on 2 veterans for right back...oh and Ferguson.

Unless things have changed today I think he has gone to Leeds to be with his old manager Farke.

It appears things have changed. He'd reached medical stage at Leeds but last minute U turn when Bournemouth came in with an offer.

He didn't manage to shore up Mitchell's defensive shortcomings

I thought Mitchell was better under Roy than Vieira.

Djed Spence has to be worth a conversation at a minimum.

Transfer gossip is linking him with Forrest, but they have about 5 right backs so cant see they would need him.

Max Aarons really isn't very good. He's been exposed both seasons he's played top flight.

He had a level of ability in his teens which suggested he had the potential to push on to be an international, and then failed to push on. He's no better than Clyne is.

The lack of interest in him from everyone should indicate the football world's thoughts on him.

Arron Impressed me when we ever played Norwich.
He needs help to improve to next level.
He was often left exposed in a poor Norwich team!!
Now he's gone to Bournemouth, like to know why Aarons was discounted by our club.

Probably because what limited transfer funds we have are ear-marked for an attacker

Paddy McCarthy was the club captain when we first returned to the EPL. He didn't get much game time. But unless we can get someone to take Ward or Clyne off our hands then an acquisition is v unlikely

Luka, our last club captain, spent most of last season on the bench. Club captain and captain on the field are two very different things. The club captain's role off the pitch is an important one.
