Dreyfuss is Jewish by ethnicity, so what makes a white person? Simply not being 'a person of colour'?

European Jews are generally genetically mixed in with European DNA....some obviously more than others. My take on it is that if a Jew considers themselves white and is positive towards Europeans I accept that. If they consider themselves non white then I also take them at their word.

He needs to shut the f*** up. White people need to stop whingeing and whining, accept the new reality and then just do what white people always do. Adapt and thrive. Who gives a s*** about an award if it is tainted in this way? Just do whatever you do, to the best of your ability and show an in-group preference when it comes to supporting others in a similar predicament. White people really are becoming a moaney bunch of wimps.

Of course, he's right. Most would agree. The mystery is why, despite the obvious absurdity of it all, it's still being allowed to happen. Who are the people making these decisions, and how do we get rid of them? Time to man up people.

I have never been in favour of any organisation trying to solve genuine issues of diversity and prejudice through the introduction of quotas.

That's a shocking attitude. What does it matter? They are all humans. Their skin colour is down to how much sunlight their ancestors lived under together with how much interbreeding with people from other groups has happened. People ought not be separated in any such arbitrary way. If you believe in a meritocracy, as you claim to, then how does this approach match it?

Perhaps you need to be speaking to the Jews then because they clearly don't agree with you. Apparently Jews are not different....with this argument you are basically saying that the the Holocaust was just Europeans killing other Europeans or humans and so shouldn't be seen as anymore significant than any other WW2 death as for example many more Russians died than Jews. Personally, in most cases, I accept a person's ethnic self definition unless I think they are lying or deluded. Edited by Stirlingsays (09 May 2023 12.44am)
