After the last international Tournament Southgate was a bit on the fence about whether he wanted to continue in the job or not, presumably unless we win the Euros this time (with the amount of media / public scrutiny & speculation) he will probably call it a day afterwards -

Potter would be an obvious choice to replace him but I think he will be employed before then - I can see Potter at Fulham by Christmas.

I think Howe will be next England manager after being sacked by Newcastle at some point this season.

Think Potter would be great. De Zerbi getting enormous amounts of credit this reason, and rightly so, but he's building on a lot of the work that Potter put in.

Southgate's biggest skill is squad harmony and togetherness rather than tactical acumen. Reckon he'd want a bigger job anyway.

I think some of you lot are right about Southgate. He is at a lot of our games with Parish so it wouldnt be a surprise.

I still think the Greek Pavaroti owner at Forest who is as mad as a box of frogs will sack Cooper at some point so I would go for him next Summer.

Potter would prefer a larger squad. I don't see him working with us. Some half decent results have glossed over where our squad is. It's small with little or no cover.
It looked like (and I don't know what happened) that several managers came to us for an interview but we eventually gave Roy a short term contract. Why they didn't come, I don't know - were none good enough, or were they suspicious about our budgets/plans/ownership? Who knows really.

There was a rumour that Cooper was interviewed twice, offered the job, and then turned us down. Don't exactly know why but the rumour was ambition (transfer funds). I heard, rumour again, that Potter said he wasn't currently interested when approached and didn't even make an interview. It would explain the delay in announcing Roy.
