With no chance of a conviction - which I assume was the CPS's advice - what would be the point of making an arrest? In the good ol' days when the Old Bill could give someone a good duffing-up in the cells before letting them go, perhaps, but times have changed. Furthermore the internet is full of stories of police taking no action on countless other crimes such as theft, burglary, assault etc. These are crimes that affect someone much more than some bearded nutter shouting.

When politics in a country is determined by religion, you are deep in the brown stuff, I fear that so many younger people are sleep walking into disaster, I saw a poster “Muslims unite”, before anyone jumps up and down I have no issues with people of religion, but people using religion to wind up the masses is trouble, I am not religious, and agree with the saying, “religion started when the first con man met the first idiot”

I read it that the police couldn’t arrest for supporting terrorist activities; public order offence is a different category.

I agree that using religion to further nefarious intent is a bad thing - you only have to visit Glasgow on derby day to see that happening - but "the masses" in this country were wound up by religion for centuries, but thankfully most sane people are not in the slightest bit observant of any religion.

They could have easily made the case but given the curse of managerialism, then nobody in a position of power to sign off on it wanted to risk their careers.
