That's what I believe Roy will start with. DB, I do agree with you, I was just questioning NELLIO's assertion that the majority of the fan base wouldn't want Franca to start.

Subs: Mathews, Tomkins, Franca, Ebiowei, Ola-Adebomi, Ozoh, Riedewald, Eze, Ahamada.

Lerma may start if fit.

Me for one. Franca isn't ready for a start IMO. I was at the game yesterday and he impressed with his cameo but I don't see him be played ahead of Ayew.

I have more hope for Ozoh starting before Franca does but if both Lerma and Hughes are fit I will be surprised if he starts on Thursday.

As for Ahamada, he hasn't done enough in his previous performances to warrant a start IMO.

As for Ola-Adebomi, he's not going to replace Mateta after the latter's performance yesterday.

Thank you for your comments Roy, Wait for the last 30 mins when we are losing and see the panic in Parish`s face, maybe Roy wont be laughing this time.

We seem to forget that without Roy we would have probably already be playing championship football, SP has twice called upon Roy and Ray to save this club under very difficult conditions and they have done so, when other Managers would have run away. Whatever team he picks, it will be based on sound tactics and player ability to get the best result from whoever he has available to select from. As for the younger players all this silly talk that he never selects them is just unfair, if he and his team think they are good enough
and only they have the experience to judge that, then they will be in, it's a simple as that. As for the result for the next game against Brighton then surely we must win as that is what we have to start doing in order to survive. The game it may be scrappy and certainly not everyone's liking but 1-0 will be good enough for me!

Please, Pretty please

Have you seen Danny play lanzo ? I reckon he is ready to make the step up , looks very good going forward but even if Joel is injured i cant see Roy playing him ahead of Clyne . Im gonna go for our usual draw for this game I'm gonna wait till we go 0-1 down then stick a tenner on a draw .

Going to be a difficult game. Brighton looked pretty good against a full strength Arsenal Team despite their defeat. It is hard to gauge how the game will pan out as both teams played out from the back and both looked to pressure each other when doing so. We are more direct at the moment so a lot will depend on how we get on the end of Henderson's and Anderson's long balls and how well we defend against their intricate ball movement. I think we can get a draw.
I expect something like this
Henderson
Clyne Anderson Guehi Mitchell
Hughes Richards Schlupp
Olise Mateta Ayew
But expect Franca to come a lot earlier than he did against City

When I've seen Imray he seems to have a mistake or two in him each game which will get punished more severely at senior level. He's not ready to push for a first-team start yet in my view.

As to the game it is a hard one to call. If our injury situation doesn't improve then Roy may well decide the best option is to play a low block again. Having Ayew back will be a big plus as he helps us clear our lines and retains the ball, which is something we missed on Saturday. I agree a 1-1 draw seems like a good shout.

Interesting about Imray and i know its not the most attractive or entertaining tactics in the world but its more about points at this stage and not getting rolled over by the Weed . I think Clyne will go rigght back he was alright against City . Cheers

I thought Clyne did pretty well too. He's a bit quicker than Ward and definitely better on the ball.

I watched the Arsenal v Brighton game yesterday.

Arsenal totally outplayed Brighton for 80 minutes but only had one goal to show for it.

De Zerbi made a triple substitution and Brighton went for it in the last 10 minutes. Fortunately Arsenal finished them off after a few close shaves.

Very similar to our game on Saturday.

Tough game ahead obviously. Again we won't see the ball for long periods and will need to keep the concentration levels high.

If Ayew and Ebs are fit, we can get at them though.
