I’d imagine with the new manager coming, someone will have to explain who all the players are. “This is Sam, he’s a good solid goalkeeper, this is Dean, he’s let in 14 goals in the last 4 matches”

He rattled off about fifteen players, together with specific insight about the individuals, how they were coached and how they adapted tactically within games. The Big Five leagues are so accessible these days that I suspect any new manager would have a decent insight into the current squad. What he will need to work out very quickly in my view is who the leaders are and who has the requisite bottle, because that will be what (hopefully) gets us over the line this season.

I'm sure this situation will be resolved in the summer. One of them will leave. It won't be Henderson.

I'm baffled. They may be roughly comparable, but it's odd that no one among us is arguing that Henderson is superior. My only theories are that Roy is following orders from those who intend to sell Johnstone, or that Johnstone is slightly injured and we want to hide it from potential suitors. I would love to hear what the defenders' impressions are, for to most of us the defenders have looked more confident, organized, and disciplined with Johnstone than with Henderson. I believe issues relating to the number of appearances have entered the equation.

Rangers: Jack Butland praised by Philippe Clement [Link] This doesn’t help. What on earth did we let him go for?

Also sounds like it isn't working at the other team with 'two Number ones', Arsenal, as Ramsdale wants out At least for the Gunners a second goalkeeper can be assured of plenty of cup opportunities. For Palace, signing Henderson - whom neither of the clubs he played for, United and Forest, wanted - for such an inflated fee, was a gormless decision

For me it's the one sore point from our transfer business the last few years. Didn't seem to make much sense at the time and 6 months later it makes even less sense. Real shame as the money and wages could be put to much better use.

In both his loans (Sheff Utd and Forest) he has excelled and Forest only didn't sign him as he was not fit for the start of the season. Henderson came in at a time when he was rushed back from his injured thigh and certainly played very well at Man City. Would you have preferred Matthews in goal that day?

Rangers will let Jack go for £15 million. Great transfer work by the Dougster. If only we had played him instead of Guita
