I wonder how the club sees the situation as compared to us fans? They have said they want Roy for this season and to then replace him to progress forward with their plan, trust me they will have one no business operates without one. They need to remain in the Premiership as the first objective hence the safe hands of Roy. An average over the season of a point a game should do it. So far so good we are on schedule despite several injuries to our most influential players.
Step in the fans complaining about the style of football, complaining about the choice of players, complaining about the tactics, complaining about the manager, complaining about the medical staff, complaining about the Board, complaining about the transfer policy, complaining about not progressing the ground reconstruction and so on.
It has come to the point that us Fans are now forcing the issue picking Roy as the major reason for our situation and only a change can save us. However the Club whilst accepting we could have more points we are still on schedule for survival hence they do not feel the need to change.
If the fans force the situation and make the Club employ someone as manager through protests , which was not in their plans , and we start to fall short of the point a game survival plan then us Fans will have played a major part in the failure . Let the Club follow their plan and stand or fall by it interference could end up being worse.COYP

But its not who you want is it? its who you can get to take over the shambles.

Doesn't seem like a good idea to replace Roy with someone you don't really want.

The fact that we are allegedly struggling to find a replacement suggests that we are lucky to already have someone of the calibre we do.
Hiring a manager in the Summer might be a different matter, but right now jumping from the frying pan into the fire does not seem sensible.
Obviously, if we continue to lose, particularly against lower teams, with games running out, Roy will have to go simply as the last resort.

I have this feeling that we have somone already to take over in the summer.

Any Job now will only be short term until then so that is why no one will take the job.

I Could be wrong tho.

Steve Holland? Him and Southgate will be free in the summer, and i expect Southgate to be expecting bigger than us for his next move (whether he gets bigger than us is debatable for me).

Things are going downhill rapidly. Players are looking clueless and disinterested and even our back 4 who are normally ok and have been excellent in the past, look troubled and lack confidence.

Roy is gone in the summer anyway so given the current direction of travel, I see nothing to be lost in changing him immediately and whilst not my first choice, I would have no problem with Cooper. He was well liked by Forest fans and is decent with bringing through young players.

Rather than worrying about going down we should be embracing whatever happens and having Cooper in place now would tell him everything he needs to know about the players in readiness for whatever next season brings. I seriously cannot see him doing any worse than Roy at the moment therefore we might as well see if he can get a tune out of the remaining fit players we have.

Relegation does not worry me particularly as a fan. If it happens it happens, but failing under a manager who is not going to be here next season anyway seems a pretty pointless exercise.

Relegation may not worry you but Cooper or any other manager may have a different view and will not want to manage in the Championship.

Totally agree - except relegation - that does bother/concern me..!!

Why - because as I’ve and others have said we are just a few players away from being a real Premiership force - so challenging for the top 6..!!

Some of that recruitment happened in the January window - Wharton great addition to the squad - we finally have a right back.

We’re probably now a left back, another centre half, left winger and a centre forward, when everyone fit away from being that Premiership force challenging for the top 6..!!

If we’re relegated - we would lose all our best players - and would have to start all over again - 11 years in the Prem and building wasted - when we are right on verge of being a Prem force..!!

Beyond that if we are relegated attracting and getting investment, which we desperately need for the squad and stadium rebuild becomes all the more difficult.

Where we find ourselves now - we just need to finish ahead of Luton - Sheff U and Burnley are gone..!!

With the right Manager place - even without the likes Olise, Eze, Guehi etc.. There’s enough in the squad to achieve that..!!

On Roy - should have gone after the losses against Bournemouth and Luton - writing was on the wall then - things haven’t improved - they’ve got worse..!!

But SP procrastinated and delayed - now we find ourselves in the position where nobody fancies the role - that’s all on SP..!!

So if Prem survival means so much - then offer a Potter or a Cooper the job - with an end of season release clause should we go down - but if they keep us up a sizeable bonus and contact - with the necessary assurances funds will be available to improve the squad further..!!

I can’t believe that on those terms neither would take the job..!!

So over to you SP - as if you stick with Roy then relegation is staring us in the face - big time..!!

Some would probably argue that the managers we are likely to attract have strengths forged in the Championship although I understand not all would be happy to come until they see where we finish.

That’s fair enough and would remove others concerns about managers not wanting to come if we get relegated.

Any potential manager is currently in a strong position and can make some big demands. I suspect Steve Parish is negotiating ATM to avoid being screwed for a four year rolling contract or similar. Hopefully, something and someone can be sorted soon. Very soon.

In a discussion where people know what they are talking about that indeed maybe true, however if you just look at the half dozen threads on this website discussing the change of manager at Palace there are a lot of posts about managers - don't want this guy he took Watford down, don't want that guy he took WBA down etc etc.

There seem to be a lot of people using the fact that a Manager was at the helm of a club when they got relegated as some form of indisputable yardstick to judge them as not suitable without reference to any surrounding facts which in most instances make up the bigger picture.

SP simply got to sack Roy - get someone in that will unlock the potential and get the most out of this squad for the rest of the season and stop playing all Roy’s “has beens” - some of whom are “was nevers” and “never will be’s”…!!

Do that and we will be fine..!!

As I said over to you SP - you covet the “big chair” - now prove you own it..!!
