Hows that pessimism going for you today? Found any more stats that point to our inevitable doom? As mentioned again and again (and not just by me) its the injuries to key players that have made this seasons results (and your stats) so disappointing. Yesterday proved what a level Palace can play at when we have close to a full strength team available. Yes we rode our luck a bit in the second half but our defending was superb. On another day we could have been going in at half time 3 0 up. As said before I am very confident we will pick up another 4 to 6 points between now and the end of the season. Probably more. I just wish the doom and gloomers amongst us would just hold their nerve during the rough patches and have some faith

Indeed and why Leicester faces a point deduction in the PL next season if they get promoted . Not sure how many years they can bank that penalty though Leicester are not subject to fast tracking the case as they were not a PL club when that vote took place . They will argue they were not a PL club when the accounts were due an offence that is seen as greater than N Forests who got 4 points

...but we're not allowed to call out the WRONG 'told you so's' when we actually do play well and do win? You know, the pessimists that kept banging on and on about how doomed we are. Our form has been terrible this season and there's no hiding from that. We've had to rely on Burnley and Sheffield United for more than a third of our points. One great win against Liverpool can't mask that. Hyperbolic reaction to one win seems a tad over the top. Similarly Mitchell had his best game of the season and has an assist from Sunday. This alone does not necessarily make him the answer to our left wing back position in Glasner's system. Hopefully he will be, but it would seem prudent to observe more games before reaching such conclusion. There, I've said it and managed not to insult any fellow fans.

Absolutely. However, as I've watched developments under Glasner, I see an improvement in the quality of our football and note that several players seem to be playing at a better level than was the case previously.
I shall be interested in seeing how the rest of the season unfolds.

One correspondent has already that Mitchell was restricted by Hodgeson’s tactics so may not appear to be a wing back. However, he has always been able to put in a good cross, is having his best year for assists and is the top English tackler in the EPL and fourth overall (Premier League Player Stats). To me he always seems worried about getting caught out going too far forward but Glasner is working on that. He kept Salah quiet for the second successive match and was congratulated by him at the end. I think he deserves more respect, after all he is ‘one of our own’.

What is over the top? What is (your pompous word) Hyperbolic about it? Countless people on here were embarrassingly negative. For weeks. Despite obvious improvement under Glasner. I (as well as others) pointed out out form has little to do with stats and mostly to do with horrendous injuries to key players from the very first game (Doucoure) to now. Once we get our best players back I, in fact not only me but a few others felt the results will come but we all got written off as over optimistic and a load of stats thrown out about our recent form and (because of this) its apparently impossible to see where our next win is coming from. Beating Liverpool was simply proof that stats mean nothing. They were only based upon a team that had half its first choice players out anyway. We have issues to be addressed with the team of course we do. Thats Glasner's job to sort out as I am sure he will.
