We do enjoy extra trains to and from Selhurst on match days. ------ Elpis Bring back the football specials ,trains that get you there in time for a few pints and leave after the game has finished

Maybe we do - What used to amaze me was the 17.21 from Selhurst going through East Croydon to Caterham (which for anyone going in that direction was the most obvious train to go for after the game) was almost always only 4 coaches long - I now go to the Jolly Sailor after the game for a couple & get the 17.53 from Norwood Junction which is 10 coaches & because its that 30 minutes later is nowhere near as busy. Those were the days back in the 80’s

I bet they wouldn’t be so reliable now though, strikes, cancellations, faulty signals, leaves on the line etc etc let the train take the strain my arse
