After being one of the E400 this is an even bigger kick in the teeth and I don't think I'll be able to attend the games anymore.

After being a season ticket holder for 25 years I am heart broken.

My fiance told me that i received the email late last night which is the way Palace works now so haven't got time to contact them.

Not sure if viable but maybe someone can access your digital season ticket for you and print off the codes which fit under the reader. I can do that. A smart phone is as little as £30 which will allow this to be downloaded and a querty code printed. You only need an email address.

Hope you find a solution sir.

To be far the club can only do so much the original poster listed a bunch of issues the club cant solve so it's upto the person if they choose to go into that environment also why do they not have a chaperon or carer with them?

I have a family member who has a lot of these issues listed and they would never even consider going to a sports event its not viable because of too many variables you can not control even ranging from transport to and from the place.

Sensitive to light so cant use a mobile sorry that is BS excuse.

I'm autistic. I have a smart phone, and a laptop. I am lucky that although I suffer from light sensitivity, it is relativity low. I can quite imagine that some people might not be able to use a phone, or a laptop. I much prefer pen and paper, its pain free.

The OP is quite correct, grumpymort - please keep your opinions to yourself.

I don't and never have had a mobile phone of any kind let alone a smart one whatever that is .
I don't want to be tracked ,I don't want to be contactable 24/7 and certainly don't want to be reliant on one . I want to look at the world through my own eyes not a 4" screen and Ive got better things to do than scroll through pages of what other people who I don't even know think on various subjects .(I make an exception for HOL on my LT)

But Hey you will need one to enter a Premier league football ground .
Queuing at the box office should not be part of 'the match day experience '
Maybe Im just getting old you can't even spend any cash in the ground anymore .

Technology ,poke it and it won't be long before I'll be saying the same to regular live premier league football the whole event of the match has become a chore .

You could get hold of a dirt-cheap second-hand smart phone but not sign up to a phone service provider (ie don't put a SIM card in). Then just use it when at home via WiFi as though it was a second (tiny) computer. You can save your tickets, passes etc onto the phone, then when you go to the match, or anywhere else where you need to show a barcode, just whip out the phone and "bingo". You won't be tracked by anyone or be available to anyone because you won't be connected to any network.

I feel sorry for the OP it's not just people with difficulties many pensioners feel left out.

In my block of flats I have become Travel Agent, NHS appointment booker, Amazon purhaser etc. for my elderly neighbours.

The generation above me will die out but business and government are moving too fast for these folk.

It's like supermarkets, my Sainsbury only has one manned till and often none at all. However the self service tills don't completely replace a human being, they are not well designed and if you are buying restricted goods such as booze or aspirin you still need a person.

So my general comment about technology is that we are being pushed into using it when it only does some of what it is supposed to do.

My father gave up calling his insurance company he just did not understand how to use the AI that answered the phone.

I wonder if this will be me in 20 years not understanding the technology that will exist then.

I’m sorry for your disappointment but as a number of posters have said there are solutions.

The club is responding to the burden of an increasingly regulated world.

The liaison officer is a good start point and paper ticket reprints from the office near gate 9 is also a solution.

I had a one-off ticket issue for this coming season and contacted the head of ticketing for advice and help, following a stalemate in options.

He was unbelievably helpful and gave me his direct email and number.

If all else fails I’m happy to contact him on your behalf.

Don’t give up yet. The future at Palace is bright.

Glasner All Over.

This situation is being addressed on a FB palace site "the eagles have landed" & the girls from CPFCFAB are dealing with it, may be worth contacting them as it seems a growing problem. Hope this helps.

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

As a CPISA committee member I can honestly assure everyone that we are standing up for fans and challenging the club. The switch to digital impacts fans across the board, including us, and we would much rather fans had the choice. Ultimately, whilst there are things that we can influence the club to act on and change, (here are just some [Link] there are others that regardless the club will stand firm on and sadly digital ticketing is one of those.
What we can do as CPISA is try to ensure that individual fans who cannot for whatever reason manage digital tickets are supported to put their case to the club and try to get an outcome that works for them.

We take up individual issues for many fans across a diverse range of topics, regardless of whether they are members or not, and we work with them and with the club to achieve the outcomes that people need. We don’t publicise those because they are personal to the individuals.

CPISA is completely independent of the club. The CPISA committee are volunteers who give up our spare time to try to make things better for all Palace fans. We are always happy to hear from people who feel they might have some time to give and want to help us by joining our committee. Even if you don’t have time to be a committee member just signing up and joining CPISA increases our membership and helps our voice to have greater impact and it’s free!

Absolutely give this a try eritheagle.

The club have a duty of care to accomodate suporters with disabilities and that includes those that aren't always physically apparent. If you can't use a smart phone because of the light intensity of the screen, then an e-ticket is a barrier that the club/Premier League are imposing and that would likely be taken as a form of discrimination. Be prepared to prove your claim though, they'll like want to see a diagnosis from a doc.

Whether or not you make the decision to attend because of the b0ll0cks that goes on now with those new advertising screens and pyrotechnics is up to you, but it should be your decision and not one that is made for you by the club/league.

Besides, we all know that the club/league only want us all on digital for data mining and monitoring what we purchase and to make more money with you sharing your ticket. Added bonus of being able to invalidate your ticket at the touch of a button if they want to as well.

The trouble with computers, of course, is that they're very sophisticated idiots
