Why can`t CPFC ban smoking during the game? It`s becoming totally unacceptable these days and most of us have given up or are trying too? If you sit next to a chain smoker it can really affect the enjoyment of the game. I know this will piss the somkers off but surely they can hold out for 45mins?

This is a typical comment coming from a reformed smoker! I for one am a reformed non-smoker. The way Palace play sometimes it is enough to turn non-smokers into smokers.

The Main Stand is a non-smoking area.

The Main Stand is a non-smoking area. Thank you Jamesey. There you are "premier fan". Move out the AW stand and into the Main Stand.

I do think that they should ban it really aswell, as people are SO near each other that it really can affect a non-smoker. Surely they can just wait until half time?!

Dont you fellow smokers get really p$ssed off when all these non smokers/reformed smokers get on our backs all the time. I get this problem of moaning down here in Plymouth and it really gets up my nose. Most of the non smokers have habits that get right on my nerves but I do NOT continually harp on about it all the time. THE ANSWER TO THESE SMOKING HATERS IS: DONT COME NEAR US JUST MOVE SOMEWHERE ELSE AS YOU HAVE ENOUGH AREAS AND PLACES IN THIS COUNTRY WERE WE CANNOT SMOKE SO BL00DY USE THEM AND LEAVE US ALONE...........GET A LIFE!!!!!
Supported Palace for over 69 years since the age of 7 and have seen all the ups and downs and will probably see many more ups and downs before I go up to the big football club in the sky. |

There are more non-smoking seats than smoking - all the Main Stand, Whitehorse, and more than half the Holmesdale (only blocks A-D are smoking) so the simple answer is go to a no smoking area
Trivial fact - Palace used to win 5-1 at least once a season, maybe next season? |

I noticed at White Hart Lane yesterday that they have signs banning smoking during play. So the smokers can have a fag before the KO and at half time.
There used to be a recruitment ad for the Met with the tag line: "Dull it isn't" |

I am a smoker and sit in the Holmesdale Upper. Where I sit is no smoking. I sit there because my mates sit there. If I want a fag I can go down onto the concourse and have one. No problem.

I used to smoke and often had a few at my seat. Now that I don't smoke it still doesn't bother me if other people do. I'd rather they smoked at their seats outside rather than inside.

I wonder how many anti-smokers drive to games? Do I object as a non-driver to people polluting the whole atmosphere..NO. Do I object to them being a factor in causing increased Asthma in children in inner city areas...NO. You know why I don't object, because this is Britain and we believe in freedom so if the option is available to sit in the non-smoking parts then either go there or sod off to San Francisco where there is no smoking everywhere and you can sit with other non-smokers watching the 49'ers!!!
