As you say, bflb, it makes for a good debate. If you feel I am sometimes OTT, then so be it, but often I'm fighting a one-man battle against numerous other posters. I know I'm usually voicing a minority opinion (as far as HOL is concerned anyway), but that doesn't bother me. I'll say what I feel to be the truth and if others don't like it I don't honestly care. I won't be a sheep and follow the herd!

Whatever my political leanings, I don't see the problem with bringing up a point which you agree is correct. Can't you just read my posts and decide whether you agree or not without seeing a political motivation behind everything I write? I do the same when I read your posts, and anyone else's too for that matter!

Surely it's you that has been doing the winding up Seth. Your views are the product of a sterile culture that is dictated by people so far out of touch with reality that it's scary. It's a really simple point, but I feel people with your views are totally flawed. By being too PC and afraid to point out the truth, you inadvertedly are the worst offenders of the lot. Anyone with the first name 'Mohammed' would be pleased to comment on the phenomenon, as you would be living in Asia with 'Seth' becoming a popular first name. The PC culture creates people too worried about stepping on people's toes, who as a result appear out of touch and believe their is a problem when really there isn't. If any "Mohammed's" were reading this Seth, they'd think it was you that was causing the problem. Instead of aknowledging the statistic, you've rubbished it saying it has little relevance.

Actually, Seth is a common name in India (Seth Chhaju Ram, Vikram Seth etc). I haven't got the time or energy to go through the rest of your post refuting every point, so you'll just have to accept that I don't agree with anything you say.

Seth, in the field of ancient history, there are complete movements of belief that all completely conflict with each other. The people behind these movements have all the same credentials and letters after their names and all claim to be the leading light of their field, but in truth, you will never find ALL the answers in any ONE movement or any ONE so-called 'expert'. Most of these 'experts' come from the 'Oxbridge' school of half-truth, lies and bulls***. British history was re-written by the German Hanoverians and their ruling class of the day in order to make their (foreign) rule more acceptable to the British people and 'Oxbridge’ has been towing their line ever since. The Hanoverians invented the pro-Saxon myth that the Celts were a rabble of barbarians undeserving of such land as the island of Britain, so giving credence to the German Saxon subjugation of Celtic culture and life. The Oxbridge version of British history is extremely flawed and consequently so is the theoretical argument of the majority of 'leading lights' who’re churned from Oxbridge's bowels. Like politics, you have to read a ton of the stuff before you can even begin to form your own ideas and opinions on what you believe to be most likely the truth, you have to question stuff and take nothing as gospel. You cannot take one person (this Dr Simon Oojamaflip of the BBC and formerly Oxbridge no doubt), quote sections of his theory and stand behind that as 'the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.' History by it's very nature is political. It's written by the victors and is far from being an exact science. Over the course of two thousand years truth and fact has become extremely blurred, and until the arrogant Oxbridge elite have the guts to stand up and admit that much of what they’ve been preaching, is at best extremely flawed and almost certainly wrong, then the truth will continue to be ignored. Check out the work of Alan Wilson and Baram Blackett if you really want to begin to understand just how much of our taught history is wrong, these chaps throw the entire history of Britain on it's arse and I place a lot of stock in what they claim to be the truth. Archaeological fact: All Celtic remains found in all regions of Britain and Gaul point to the fact that in an age when mankind was slight in stature, the Celts were very tall, whatever their tribal group! This thread should have died ages ago. Surely the best thing to do is forget it now? Who gives a toss what names are in Britain's top 20??

As I said, I've an open mind, but what I read of Dr James echoed what I had learned from other sources, so I wanted to share it with you. Of course history is infuenced by politics and opinions will always be divided, but out of interest, did anything Dr James have to say ring any bells with you, or do you reject it all as Oxbridge b*lls***?
