Leading girls' names increasing in 2004 were Lily, which jumped eight places to number 16, Isabelle, up 12 to 30 and Ruby, which climbed 19 places to 31. Rachel, Sarah and Shannon all dropped out of the top 50.

f*** me its like reading the Fifa World Rankings.

and the fact that Mohammed is in the top 10 names proves that theres to many immigrants in this country!

Wait till the top ten names are names which we cannot pronounce, then you know there's too many immigrants.

Mohammed has become one of the most popular names for baby boys in England and Wales. [Link]

What point are you trying to make Penge? Why are you so concerned?

I should have known a Loony Left would yet again, try to accuse or insinuate somebody of being racist...

I'm actually more concerned somebody would call their child Jack than Mohammed!

So would you have started this thread if the headline was: "Alex (or Alfie, or Dylan or any English-sounding name) enters top boys' names"?

I was just wondering why you felt it was worth starting a thread about this. I never mentioned racism, nor insulted you. You are very quick to resort to name-calling at the earliest opportunity. This demeans your argument and deflects from whatever point you are trying to make.

Personally I don't care whether Mohammed is in this list or not. I know several people of that name and they're all very nice. So what difference does it make?

Where did Penge say he was concerned!?!?

The fact he felt it necessary to start this thread indicates some concern. Otherwise why do it?

Seth, a lot of us know that you and Penge don't see eye to eye with things like this.

So why start trying to score points off of each other....?

Some concern? Don't make me laugh! It's an interesting news story. I didn't give my opinion on the story, just posted the BBC's headline and first paragraph to encourage debate. Funny how you're the only person to see otherwise!

Are the BBC wrong to publish such a story if I'm wrong to post it? I often post links to news stories so people can discuss it on here, and this is no different! The last one was on Jan 3 - NHS fear over 24-hour drink plans - and nobody replied!

Well I'm f***ing concerned! Just as I'd be concerned if 'Hank' was in the top twenty most popular names list of Kuwait eh Seff me ole matey skip! I bet you'd certainly have something to say about that wouldn't ya pal!

It only goes to confirm what I already knew about the true population figures of the UK today and lies and cover-ups of the current government.
