CRISTAL PALACE'S playas' lounge has moved one step closer to its unveiling at the Selhurst Park ground.
P DIDDY was locked in talks with Phil Alexander, chief executive of the footie club, on Thursday night - thrashing out a possible takeover.

The multi-millionaire rapper now knows exactly how much the skint club in south-east London will cost and is in contact with their administrators.

Diddy - real name Sean Combs - is expected to come back with an offer this weekend.

Palace face a tricky trip to Blackpool today, the first match since I broke the Diddy story.

The Championship side are seriously in danger of relegation but the takeover does not hinge on their survival. A source said: "Diddy wants to own Crystal Palace - no matter what division they might be in next season.

"He identifies with the club and feels they have real potential.

"If they go down to League One, he will ensure it's a brief stay."

I'd love to see Diddy in the directors' box at Yeovil.

I'd like to see him for a bit of grub at the Old Bank in Honor Oak Park after a Palace match even more.

Beggars can't be choosers but I am pretty sure it is all rubbish, but good that the club is in the public eye. As they say no such thing as bad press.

In the South London Press it has quoted local businessman Winston McKenzie (who with that surname and being a former boxer could be related to Leon) as saying:
"In the latter part of next week my consortium will make a formal bid and aim to become the preferred bidder.
"Some people are just jumping on the bandwagon for a bit of publicity- but they have got to put their money where their mouth is.
"There are a couple of consortiums who are waiting to see who puts their offer in first and then more will come in. But I'll outbox them- I'll do the Muhammad Ali shuffle."

Bidding wars? bring it on! if we can get this sorted in the next week I'm sure it will give a lift to the players & get us clear of relegation! P Daddy seems perfect, he has money, popular, and unlikey to mess in team management affairs..

God help us if McKenzie gets anywhere near Palace. He has no track record of success at anything. This is his Wiki entry

Winston Truman McKenzie (born 23 October 1953, in Jamaica) is a UK politician, notable for having joined every major political party, and for having stood as an independent or minor party candidate on numerous occasions.

McKenzie was originally a middleweight boxer, and is older brother of boxer Duke McKenzie. He contended that after an underprivileged childhood, "boxing was my salvation". However, his boxing career was cut short at 23 by a detached retina. He later ran a pub and worked as a hairdresser, and is now a youth worker.

The crowd is outstanding, and especially with the penalty after 44 minutes it was clear when we came out after half-time the welcome would be pretty loud and not too friendly. Crystal Palace wanted to strike back, so that was all clear. This is a wonderful place to play football - Jurgen Klopp

Personally I think the P Diddy thing is a load of bullsh1t, but it is raising the profile of him and the club, so free advertising for both. With Mckenzie making mutterings about his consortium, again, I don't think he will be buying the club, maybe a consortium is using him to make pleliminary negotiations on their behalf, once bought, they can put in their own man. The good thing is (looking on the bright side), there seems to be the beginings of action here, all this talk will perhaps force someone to make a serious move. Maybe, just maybe we will be nearer to ending this miserable period for the club, come next Friday

If it wasn't for bad luck, I wouldn't have no luck at all!
