Its wrong and they should throw the book at the perpetrator. That said (and not excusing the perp) I think Trump's politics are odious.

But back to Jo Cox. In your opinion, have the campaign tactics of Farage exacerbated the anti foreigner anti refugee feelings that are creeping into this country.

That is totally beside the point, and that is my point.

Your outrage and focus runs along political lines.

You are less concerned about the murder of a woman and more concerned with driving home your political obsessions.

No I am concerned that we have come to the point that because this young woman who championed the rights of refugees has been murdered because of creeping fascism. But yes of course it is political. I am worried the same may happen to others who share the same compassion as Jo Cox did and democratically elected.

Yeah I get all that, but your concerns are a one way street.
If Trump or Boris bought the farm at the hands of a socialist, you would throw a party.

Good you get it. At long last! I would not throw a party. One death is too many.

I find it sad that you think that of me. All of your assumptions about me are far off the mark.

That said I raised a glass at Thatcher's demise, but hers was a natural death not assassination. Had she been assassinated I would have been appalled.

Anyway at risk of sounding like Willo,I'd much rather people discussed and argued the issues within threads rather than what I may or may not think. Argue against my points.

I believe that we are at a time where the only challenge to globalisation and the cultural/social/secular hegemony being pursued by Western, and some Asian, governments is extremism.

The rise of radical Islam, left groups like Podemos & Five Star and nationalist/fascist groups is a polarisation people create to distance themselves from this hegemony.

By limiting the scope of investigation to purely the right, you ignoring the larger issue. There are a lot of lunatics of various hues, with access to media instruments previously only the preserve of the military, who are now seeking to indoctrine the feeble minded and the promiscuous into acting out their will.

I think you dost protest too much.

You celebrated the death of an old lady with Alzheimer's but you are shocked that I suggest that you would celebrate the assassination of Donald Trump.

Unavoidably,"points" are judged based partly on who is making them.
I think that any objectivity you have is outweighed by your strong left wing political views.

When Thatcher died I did think good riddance, as did many others.

But that is entirely different to wishing someone dead.

Many other bitter left wingers.

Many saw her as a very good prime minister who rescued Britain for 1970's socialist and union insanity.

No doubt you would prefer us to still be the sick man of Europe, producing sub standard goods at a very slow rate and striking every other week for 12% pay rises.

Look, there are plenty of Thatcher threads about. She polarised opinion that much is true. But this thread is about a labour mp who was murdered by a fascist.

You repeatedly wished of her death and repeatedly told us all how much you'd celebrate.

You never clarified once that you'd only do so if it were of natural causes.

I seem to recall you have also revelled in the deaths and injuries sustained in the Brighton bomb. Apologies if it wasn't you, but i'm reasonably sure it was.

Optimistic as ever

I can see why you don't want widen the discussion.

It would be too revealing of your thought process.
