SP was not expecting any problems so should all go through today - and must be pretty confident as he gave the shouty ninconpoop Jim shouty White the "exclusive" news live onnair.. Sounds like it was always in their plans to leave the space open for one of the decent free agents. Gotta love SP he comes across so well!

Not too excited by this....another fading star looking for a last payday. Got a feeling he'll spend more time on the treatment table than on the pitch.

Sincerely hope I'm wrong.

Professor Downer.

Hopefully the medical will identify any potential risk of that.

Unfortunately, his role is one of combative midfielder. Injury is something of an occupational hazard. One reason why I suppose many miss Jedi as he appeared unbreakable given what he does.

You're not clicking on the "refresh" button often enough.

I hope it will happen.

I was thinking this also, "well he did play for Arsenal, so he must be alright". But then I remembered Yaya Sanogo.

We're not talking about a striker here, we're talking about a midfield destroyer, big difference. Adebayor and Sanogo were judged on goals, or lack of them. When it comes to a midfielder I think experience counts for a lot, especially when you are over 30. Gary Mccallister, Gary Speed, Pirlo, Alonso, Lampard.

The list is endless of quality midfielders who can carry on playing at the highest level until they are 34/35.

This guy is in his prime. Spoke to an Arsenal season ticket holder at work who said, Dont expect much finesse, but he will give his all, and kick a few lumps out of the opposition. Exactly what we need.

Although I agree entirely with your sentiments, I would love to know the thought process that led to Gary McAllister and Gary Speed being the first two that sprung to mind.
