I'm kinda glad they've scored tbh.
We really were poor at times and 4-0 flattered us massively.
Anyway, 3pts and a solid 'mid-table' position after a slow start.
Roll on Southampton.

Why do you bother, idiotic

A game like todays has been our downfall for many seasons, against a team who are struggling we often let them get a foothold in the game and turn us over.
Today we were different, very direct from the start and put them under pressure. Whilst we slowed down we never looked in trouble and they only got into the match once Diouf came on and that was too late. The front 4 on Benteke, Zaha, Townsend and Punch look great, they all seem to read on the same page and the interplay is great. Still work to do but with Cabaye and Remy to come into the team still we have a very decent chance of having a season with no worries for once.

"They got his own song 'He's just too good for you', it's quite unbelievable but when you see it and he's facing up someone - I actually feel sorry for them, 'Cos he actually is" - Ian Holloway

To keep the feet of 'some here' on the ground.
Yes, it was a fantastic result and i'm more than happy but was it really a great performance against the worst team we've seen here for a long while? No. It was a good win against a piss poor team so let's not get carried away eh, because should we lose the next two or three the 'Pardew Out Brigade' will be at it again.
Get it?

When was the last time we scored 4 in one match? That time Danny Butterfield scored a hat trick against Wolves?

Really pleased to see Townsend score. He's a class act. I think we got a bargain even though it was 13m

Great result, so dangerous in the air today from set pieces.

But we do have periods when we let the opposition back in the game in terms of possession. Better sides will make use of it and punish us.

I hope we still have some forward momentum left for Sunderland next week and Wednesday night down at the Dell!

If you're going to the game, might I suggest double checking directions

McArthur was the difference today, we missed him big time second half of last season.

Flamini shouldn't be playing football at any level imo, well slow and a liability.

Every team has periods of the game when they let the other team back in.

Mmm. I'm not quite sure what to make of that game. I came away not feeling quite so elated as I would normally after seeing Palace win 4-1.

Perhaps that last second goal by Stoke took the edge off it, but, perhaps more so, the fact that there was some periods in the game when we were very poor - particularly after going 2-0 up. We should have bossed the game then but instead all the old Palace frailties began to appear.. some sloppy defending, poor passing, lack of movement off the ball.

The two goals in the second half added a bit of gloss, but overall it was a great result but not a great performance.
