A very sad indictment of what premier league football has done to the game. Everything is short termism. I guarantee the original poster and people like him would do the following.

1. Hound Pardew out.
2. Blame the board for lack of ambition for not appointing someone within 20 mins of Pardew sacking.
3. Hail the new manager when he arrives, applauding the often inevitable upturn in results before suggesting we have the messiah at the helm.
4. Go quiet for a few games when results go down.
5. Results continue to reflect the club's stature but not deemed good enough by said 'fans'. Return back to number 1 and repeat.

I actually want Palace to do things differently. I want them to build a legacy. When building anything of substance there will be ups and downs along the way. I'm happy with this. I see the bigger picture, that it's not just about the here and now, it's also about generations after me supporting an established premier league club. I just wish others had the brains to work this out for themselves.

Or, they bought their players before we were all thrown into the vastly overpriced market we are currently in.

as an example, were Leciester to have purchased Vardy and Mahrez this season rather than prior to last, you may well have seen both those players indiviually priced closer to the £54 million that their squad cost to assemble.

No, because they were relatively unknown - Vardy was at Fleetwood. They are only worth a lot now because of what they have done at Leicester. We've signed our equivalent of Vardy in Anderson, Ladapo and Appiah but have not given them a chance.

Anderson and Ladapo have been signed whilst we are in the PL so it makes it that much harder to break into the team. Was hoping to see Anderson come on for Bolton last night but he was left on the bench.

Appiah played some games whilst we were in the Championship but he has had his injury problems besides it's a judgement call by managers as to whether players are good enough to be given their chance.

Why do people have to be lacking brains just because they don't buy into your vision of Nirvana with Pardew at the helm?

Perhaps it's everyone else that sees the bigger picture who want to build for the future but don't see us doing that under the present management.

Sounds like someone's fallen for Pardew's clap trap which is nothing more than a mechanism to buy himself more time in the role.

Modern day football is a results game and on that basis Pardew should be judged on results in 2016 ... it's really that simple. Conversely, I can't believe some people don't have the brains to see that!!!

So you think burnley should sack dyche ?

No because his a good manager and even after relegation find themselves in a much better position than what they would be if they sacked him.

What has Pardew done that is so wrong? Since he came here nit some random date plucked to suit your argument?

Of course he has made some bad decisions, all managers do, no he isn't a great manager but what have we done to deserve a "great manager"? Pardew's record indicates that he is decent, world beater? no but certainly decent.

As for results, they are of course important but for a club like Palace there is so much more that he must be judged on too. Not unlike Wenger and before you get all arsey, I know Wenger is better than Pardew. However the need to balance the books, have relative success and still push the club forward makes the situation comparable. We are still a 20th Century club in so many ways

Where have you been in 2016 fella? It’s November in 2 weeks time. I’d encourage you to perhaps look at all of our league results since the 1st January 2016 before you come in wind milling eh!

What people have to realise on here is that people remarking on Pardew not being good enough is based solely on form over a 10 month period … yes. 10 months FFS!

Yes, he’s brought in some ½ decent players but f*ck me it’s our 4th season in the Prem and we have the funds finally. Yes, we have a lot of Championship players in the squad still but these were the same players he was lording it about when we had some form a year ago! The same players who were getting results! It rapidly starts going sideways and he hasn’t known what to do since then. Yep, we have won a few games against ‘lesser’ opposition and so we should bearing in mind we bought heavily in the summer. But, that has been like sticking a plaster on a gaping wound for most of us who see the world differently to the ‘Super Alan Pardew’ brigade!!!

Funnily enough I was here before 1st January which is why I look at his record as a whole not a random date that suits

As for spend heavily, what was the net spend again?
Also like I said, decent manager, not great, or did you chose to ignore that point too?

Pre-season, not counting the add-ons for both Benteke and Bolasie, I believe the net spend is in the region of £16 Mill.

Maybe the poster is inferring that having spent in excess of £50 Mill on players (Gross spend) excluding the add-on, we should be doing somewhat better.

Yes I know but the point I am making is that we still have a relatively cheap squad. That will obviously change over time but that;s the key, time.
