Not sure why I read so much support for Zaha
If playing for the Ivory Coast is more important than for CPFC in the most extraordinary league on the planet, and at a time when his skills are needed by us...
I would rather he went...completely...and finally
Or is all this just more manipulation by his Agent...like the last Spurs attempt to buy him?

As people have said we can not afford to lose him for this period. So if he wants to go to AFCON and Spurs come in with a decent offer, we should seriously consider it. I suspect this may not be a popular view but we need him at present and it is in my view in the clubs best interest to sort this problem quickly

It will be nice to see Sam using Palace youth (Hennesey has improved month by month) with a starting forward line up of Townsend, Benteke, Punch, substituted by Kai Kai, lookman and (from mid-February) by Zaha) should be enough to force opposition errors.

I am looking forward to the rest of the season.

According to Sky sports, Sun report, Big Sam so angry about Zaha over AFCON call up he is considering selling him for £30M, so it looks something will happen!

If he's available he has to go. Isn't that the rules? I really don't think we have any say in it and Allardyce has to suck it up.
Anyone with a problem with an Ivory Coast born footballer representing the Ivory Coast in one of the largest football competitions in the World really isn't worth listening to.
Gareth Southgate had the chance to claim him, but let an historic falling out with World class Jordan Henderson cloud his judgement, or worse still hold a grudge.

If this is the case, he's only got himself to blame. If only he'd picked Wilf for the England squad when he had the chance for what turned out to be his one match in charge, maybe this situation could've been avoided. But no, he had to go with the likes of Walcott and Euro 16 flop Sterling instead.

Allardyce has got no right to deny a player a chance to play at a full international tournament in what is a short career for any player. He has to suck it up and deal with it without throwing his toys out of the pram. Granted, the timing couldn't be worse for us, but we're not a one-man team and can get through this if everyone pulls in the same direction. Now is not the time to start losing our heads.

well done Wilf' Sick and tired of the dross that is picked above you for Southgate's mob
I am Palace through and through and will miss you whilst the tournament is on , but I hope you win it and show the hierarchy at the FA what a bunch of tossers they really are . If you had been playing for one of the so called big teams you would have had 10 caps by now and as many penalties

At least we know before transfer window opens, but as mentioned by many - give KaiKai an opportunity! Don't think either that Big Sam is furious about Zaha's choice of playing in AFCON....

Good luck to Wilf if he plays.
It will undoubtedly not help us a Club but you cannot blame him for going.
Would he do it out of spite for AP being sacked - doubtful.
He just wants to play International football and who can blame him.
When he sees Townsend picked for England whilst he doesn't even get a look in must make him feel pretty bad as he is a better player every day of the week!
He has deserved another chance but England's loss is the IC's gain.
Shame for us and I wish he wasn't going but...........

Is it known that England didn't try to select him? He has always said he was undecided about which to play for. Maybe England asked for a competitive game and he said he prefers IC.

It could absolutely be the making of him to play for IC. He could be adored and also really understand how lucky he is. Maybe that would open his eyes and eliminate some of the petulance.

People saying he's selfish are idiots. Do you think Mahrez, Toure, Mane, Bailly, etc. are all selfish too? Or do you think they're just proud to be able to represent their country? Their absences will also hurt their teams, but for many players country still comes before club, as this should be the highest honour.

Zaha was born in the Ivory Coast so he will no doubt be proud to wear the shirt. If it were not for injury Bolasie would be there too, but I don't remember people calling him selfish when he went to the AFCON two years ago?

He is not flawless but I still love Wilf and wish all the best on his adventure. Hopefully he'll come back an even better player. On the Spurs front, I can't see them getting anywhere near our asking price until the summer.

and then the exit door may be quite busy as SP prepares for life outside PL, some things just keep coming around! Lets pray for a better 2017!

Do you think these players would still play for the honour of their country if their club were allowed to withhold their wages for the period?
