I'm pretty certain that Schlupp is a left winger who has played as a stop gap left back whereas PVA is an out and out left back.

I actually think they compliment each other quite well, two natural left footers both can attack and therefore if PVA overlaps, Schlupp can drop back with ease and vice versa.

For once, we will have a strong left side with two natural left footers and both lightening quick.

I'm not suggesting either of them are world beaters, but good signings for a club of our stature.

we started out looking at jenkinson & evra one on loan and one on a reasonbly short deal but both would be classed as low rosk signings.

for whatever reason neither has signed now were looking at signing PVA for lets say 10m prob 40/50k a week and possibly chris samba who would be on reasonable wages i presume.

weve signed schlupp who is a wing back, and PVA is also a wing back.

i think i would rather we kept our cash in the bank and work with what weve got rather than throw good money after bad just for the sake of making signings.

im worried were goig down the wrong route here.

The new QPR. I'd suggest that this is Americans first meaningful contribution. They will have heaped the pressure on Parish to make a decision on Pardew, now we have a new manager they are having to back up whatever he wants...even though we have a list of players injured as long as the nile who are still being paid, we're not exactly trying to be shrewd. The wrong route indeed, certainly doesn't feel very crystal palace at the moment, although given the change in manager it's probably a necessary evil we've got to accept...and if the cash is there...just doesn't feel very united at then moment.

Exactly. People say PVA can't defend. However, when you've got Schlupp prepared to put in a shift to help PVA defensively we'll end up really strong down the left!

We do appear to be about to start a round of SUPERMARKET SWEEP. According to BFS we have made offer or enquired for up to 20 players FFS.

At least the Pards/Parish relationship seemed to have defined targets.

Apart from Samba who's probably going to cost slightly more a week than a night in Spearmint Rhinos, SA is addressing positions WE ARE vulnerable in.

Is this what isn't 'very Crystal Palace at the moment?' Not getting relegated and putting up a fight when it looks like it COULD be our turn to go down? Yeah let's carry on with either no left back or left mid or both. Great idea.

Man up. Sunderland and Hull are looking like they're going to be in big trouble very soon and we have to beat another team and do that by addressing our issues.

I'll actually turn that QPR accusaton back at you because that is how Pardew went about business apart from Papa Souare who was know doubt Chief Mr Carr at Newcastle's find and Pardew promised him 1st team sheets so he jumped at it.

However clearly Pards didn't bother targeting any full backs or central midfielders, areas we really needed new 1st team players in.

[1] If they did, then God bless them.

[2] We have three long-term injuries to first XI players; Mandanda, who we have cover X 2 for, Wickham, but Remy is now available and Soure, where we now have Schlupp. But never let the facts get in the way of a soundbite.

[3] So what does "feel very Crystal Palace" then; relegation, administration, some of the worst infrastructure in the top two divisions?

Parish must weep if he reads stuff like yours.

1) not working out so well so far is it?
2) we have 8 injuries in total I believe, competition for places makes a huge difference
3) throwing silly money at bang average players

Clear enough for you?

I begrudge one thing from Mr Parish and one thing only;letting external investment monopolies decisions (I don't care if he says he's in control of daily running's, money talks)

It's January 25th and we've signed one single player. If anything we ought to be faster to open the wallet.

Palace had been linked with Souare for a long time before Pardew was appointed Palace manager .

What do you propose?

Who do you think we could sign for equal money or less who's better?

What's the alternative? No signings in beyond Tomkins Parish and Pardew agreed on? Signing a left footed right winger to replace a left winger?

So what's your call?
