No, I realise that there are psychopaths who actually enjoy exploitation and cruelty. Most people are decent human beings who have plenty of other challenges in their lives that they don't even think about where their food is coming from, and wouldn't like to watch YouTube videos of slaughterhouses.

22 years eating a vegan diet. Perfectly happy and healthy on it.

My youngest daughter (now 9) went veggie when she was 6. We thought it was a phase that would be over within weeks, but 3 years and counting. She's trying to veer towards vegan, but we are successfully fielding that at the moment - cheese being the big one. She eats eggs, but accepts that doesn't count, as the eggs come from our own rescue chickens, so is the reverse of exploitation, and they'd lay them regardless of whether we eat them or not.

I have no problem with what people choose to eat (except the statement that honey is not vegan and should be avoided, which is stupid and shortsighted - we need as many beekeepers as possible)

My eldest daughter has now joined her on the veggie path, and my wife mostly too.

I largely eat veggie at home (because I have to) but point me at a BBQ in the summer, and I'll be eating it before it's cooked!

If I try to subsist on a non-meat diet the following things happen.

a) I become weak, dizzy and faint. I start falling over.
b) My doctor tells me to resume my normal diet.
c) My wife looks to see if it is April Fools' Day.

And since I mentioned God, I'm not sure that if He intended us to be vegans fish would have been on the menu at the feeding of the five thousand (Matt. 14 : 13-21).

Mods, perhaps move this to General talk?

Then fair enough, I retract my comment.

Although I wasn't judging you for claiming to be bigger than God because it'd be dangerous to then put myself out there as God's judge's judge. Even that would be a brag that was a bit much for the HOL.

My 17 year old daughter went veggie at 6, she changed to vegan a few months ago. She was a national standard triathlete for many years. My 19 year old daughter eats mainly vegan food, but doesn't like to cause people hassle when she eats with them, so she does eat meat sometimes, my wife is much the same.

It's not an easy road for young people growing up who would like to be vegan. All power to your children for doing what they think is right.

I hate to correct you but doesn't the bible state that Jesus created the fish from thin air? Provided he performed this multiplication spell on an already dead (and humanely killed) fish, then not much cruelty can be levelled at him.

Oh hark at me defending God/Jesus now. What next?

So do I, I love the way it tastes, and I love animals, so I haven't eaten meat for 22 years, because my taste bud sensation isn't important enough to warrant me killing an animal who would like to live for it

22 years? Amateur. Try 32 and counting

Serena Williams and David Haye are both vegan, are you sure that you are getting a good balance between work, rest and play?

Also God wrote all books. Some of them Vegan cookbooks
