I thought SP wanted someone who would play 'pragmatic' football? Well, I for one am excited by the idea, and can imagine the players will be too.

That's the first time I've looked at that forum in a couple of years and it's the same goons feom both teams rehashing the same 'banter' pretty much word for word.

Yep, he blooded lots of kids at Ajax, although to be fair that's what they do anyway so it hardly makes him special. My only concern is if he turns out to be like Martinez at Wigan - playing open, admirable football whilst getting beaten left right and centre by streetwise pragmatists. Still, it will be nice to watch them try to play a bit.

If he signs, what a fantastic appointment for Palace, raising our brand and profile to a level not seen before. I'm sure that Parish et al have not only thought about De Boer's coaching prospects, but also about the level of player quality his appointment may attract in the transfer market. Daley Blind, anyone? If past history of new appointments is anything to go by, the new manager comes in, says a few platitudes about the present squad and set-up.. and ends up clearing out all the dead wood while bringing in new players and backroom staff. Would be a great appointment with exciting times ahead.
