That at least 79 people burned to death. I think its pretty reasonable to be f**king angry that effectively there is no real provision for fighting fires and rescue for tower blocks - given the length of time these buildings have existed and been populated.

When you look at how that building burned, the limited capacity to fight fire or extract people from the building above a certain height. Many of those people died, for economic reasons.

It was a real surprise to me when you consider the regulation for hotels and the work place.
That said, I have lived in flats before in modest sized blocks and I don't recall much provision for evacuation or fire retardation.

NOW HERE'S A BIT OF INTERESTING INFO WORTH GOING VIRAL...........

Before you join the Theresa May lynch mob here are some FACTS relating
to the Grenfell tragedy..

1. The block of flats was run not by the Council but by KCTMO. This body is made up of 8 TENANTS, 4 councilors and 3 independent members.

2 Labour hold the seat that the block is situated in.

3 Labour run the London Council who manage the under funded London Fire Service

4 Emma Coad the sitting Labour MP for that ward also sat on the KCTMO.

5 The advice to stay put which Sadiq Khan has been so vocal about was given by the London Fire Service.

6 The decision to change contractors during the refurb was made by KCTMO.

7 The decision not to spend an additional £138k on fitting sprinklers was again KCTMO.

8 The decision to create ALMO organisation such as the KCTMO was made under the Right To Manage legislation passed in 2002 as part of the Commonhold and Leasehold Reform Act.

9 This was put in place to give leaseholders and tenants a greater say and the ability to self manage, which in some circumstances has clearly proven to be flawed.

10 Which Govt was in a charge when this law was passed? It was Labour.

11 Sadiq Khan as mayor of London Produced a report to say that the fire service did not need further funding.

12 Emma Coad elected Labour MP was on the board of the Tenant Management group who are being accused of not listening to tenants.

It's a modern lynch mob encouraged by bitter Labour MPs who having lost a close election want to destroy an elected government for a chance of a second election.

Supported Palace for over 69 years since the age of 7 and have seen all the ups and downs and will probably see many more ups and downs before I go up to the big football club in the sky.

As they are facts, can you provide sources for them all. You see the telegraph printed a load of cobblers based on what they'd read on Breitbart.

The claim that Kensington and Chelsea Borough Council is Labour controlled is an outright lie that is fantastically easy to disprove.
The fact that the new Labour MP for Kensington Emma Dent Coad once had a powerless position on the Tory dominated Kensington and Chelsea council betrays a very weak understanding of how local government actually works.
Ignoring the fact that Sadiq Khan was not even mayor of London when the decision to cover Grenfell tower in highly flammable plastic is obviously absurd, as is the ridiculous implication that the mayor of the biggest city in western Europe should micromanage every building renovation project in the city.
Trying to pin responsibility on Labour because the original construction date for the tower coincided with a Labour government is absolutely pathetic grasping. The problem isn't that there are 4,000 odd tower blocks in the UK, it's that many of them are deadly firetraps thanks to seven years of abject Tory neglect of housing policy, and their refusal to listen to expert advice that flammable cladding should be banned.

I have to agree with you on this one as all Nick has to do is do his homework on the facts I put and dates and timings and years and then make an informed answer. Of course MP's have changed since then but at the time of the things I listed it was Labour who did all the running and cock ups.

It's usual for the provider of facts to source them, not say here's some things do some homework to see if it's bollocks or not.

This came up on my timeline the other day,I saw it but wasn't sure how factual it was.

I think you'll find that 600 clad blocks are being examined, but this does not mean that they all have the same cladding. It was mentioned by TM that 100 such properties could be inspected in one day. So far, 11 (too many!) are reported as affected, but the total may be much less than 600.
