Yup, on the condition that they are all [save Mutch] replaced by superior alternatives.

Until then, we all know their limitations, but who would get rid of prem experienced LB, CMA etc. to cover injured/suspended first XI?

Think there might be some kind of auction going on for Puncheon. Lets face it they played him every week.

If we can recoup what we spent on PVA it would be fantastic. If the same counts for Schlupp it would be the biggest surprise of the season for me.

Comes January we should sell no-one unless the money is that big we can buy ready replacements. That would be a very tough ask, even with money to spent.

Where does that come from Ray? Pochetinno has Spurs competing with the big boys on a small budget, just compare the wage bills of the so called "top 6". If they really were to sack him he would get another big job in no time. I can not see why he would not be able to do what Guardiola does at Man City. To expect Spurs to compete with them is rather unreasonable if you compare spending power.

I believed Allardyce's comments that the thought of starting on next year's campaign - mere days after having just ended the last campaign with a breathtaking escape from relegation - pushed him into retirement. His comments about an international job suiting him might have been a sly dig at the EFA and/or him announcing his availability for such a gig to any interested national teams.

What he is doing now - signing with Everton - is not in conflict with his post-retirement explanation, IMHO. He's been given an obscene amount of money (for a manager) to run a club for just over half a season while avoiding all the pre-season grind and drudgery. Many speculated that this is exactly what he'd do (sans international gig) so it's hardly a surprise. He waited to get a call from the biggest club without - or likely to be without - a manager (the biggest club that would sign Allardyce, that is, i.e. not Liverpool or Spurs who may yet bin their respective coaches).

I bet he'll have a big war chest for January and will get to enjoy this campaign because Everton aren't the sort of squad who should have been as bad as they were. He'll likely retire again at the end of the year but, even if he doesn't, I don't think he was lying to us back in May. I'm still angry at him for quitting on us like he did, but I don't think he's a hypocrite then or now.

Haven't read it but poches recent book apparently let's secrets out meant for his ears only
Wonder if he's lost their trust as he should be there foil for all probs on and off pitch. Sort of fits with recent dip in form.
I know palace thread but he is mentioned in posts

Thinking about it, Sam may turn to Bentenke to fix their lack of a target man and were he to go I think he would flourish there with Sigurdsson's set-pieces. I don't want him too, though, I was just thinking.

I think BFS will make an enquiry re Benteke. I don't want to sell him but if we are still looking like being relegated and the offer is good enough we may decide to sell. If we get £40 million plus We could buy two reasonable strikers and have money to spare

Who are these 2 reasonable strikers? I don't see many for sale in January.

It's a nailed on certainty the club won't have done, beyond the parade of tired old names that appear in TT season in, season out.

With the technological scouting 'Tools' now available it is possible to 'Cast the net' further than just the UK, besides agents from abroad also get involved touting some of their players.
