Is the logical conclusion. Or make a £20m offer for Kane, record their answer and play it back if they start on about Wilf.

Spurs all over. They’re linked with a player who’s under contract then Levy starts wailing about not being held to ransom by the selling club.

Levy put in a derisory bid for Wilf in the past, unsettling him in the process. If the Spuds really want to go to the "next level" then they will have to start digging deep into their pockets.

Jury still out for me..!!

But if today was his last game for us then please go quickly with all our thank you's and good luck's.

If not please come out and say you are staying as AWB has done.

Just don't want a close season of if's, but's and maybe's - followed by a ludicrously low offer from Levy at the end of the window.

So if he's going let him go as early in the window as possible.

Destination difficult to see if as we are lead to believe he wants Champs League/European Football;

Won't go abroad got homesick in Manchester.
Man City, Liverpool don't need him.
Man U no way going back there.
Spuds - Levy won't pay what we want.
Can only see Arsenal or Chelsea - latter dependent on their transfer embargo.

Replacement for me would be Lookman also take Ollie Watkins from Brentford.

Bottom line for me is please put up or shut up..!!

Meantime we can celebrate a very good season - 49 points and 12th place - would have taken that in December..!!

So would I. I'd have taken it in August too!

I think he wants to go, but it will have to be to the right club. He'll have to see what offers are on the table in the summer and therefore can't commit either way.

Man City/Liverpool - no, won't be a regular
Man Utd - No. they are in free fall as a club and he's been burnt there before.
Chelsea - No. Transfer embargo.
Arsenal - Possible. Depends on Champions League qualification.
Tottenham - Most likely. Levy will have to get the cheque book out to keep Pochettino. They are the closest challenger to Man City/Liverpool. New stadium, good team, London based. Attractive option

The key thing is we won't let him go until we have a suitable replacement lined up, and only for a good price too (£70m+). After that it'd be all about how we spend the rest of the money

I don't want to sell him but I if we do it properly it could prove to be a very shrewd and calculating bit of business for our future

I'd love him to stay but i'm equally intrigued to see how good he can be at a better club.

I can’t see any of them paying £70m plus and £130k minimum wages.
The risk is that Parish lets him go cheap and we don’t get anything’ like enough to buy even a poor replacement. A true like for like would be someone like Willian. All the other names I have seen are not a true replacement.
Plus if Freedman is in charge it will be wasted.
I think he’s going nowhere.

All good posts, but what do we do when he retires or he’s not that good any more on £150k pee week by then?

Well, yes. And of course he could also get injured but if he stayed we could reasonably expect another five years out of him.
It’s a reflection on the PL that despite finishing in mid table and staying up for several years we’re essentially in the same position as a non league team when it comes to holding onto any star or potential star players.

The only star player we’ve sold since being in the Prem is Bolasie. The last we were hoping didn’t go was Scott Dann, and then he got a long term injury soon after. We’ll just have to deal with Zaha going if the offer is fair and he wants to go, as happened with Bolasie, rather than make the decision ourselves.

Totally disagree with this comment. Mid-table Prem stability allows us to pay Wilf £130k a week on a long contract. He'll stay unless someone can pony up at least that plus a hefty transfer fee. A significant barrier to someone else coming in for him.
