Watching Man Utd Leeds yesterday, Man Utd could, and probably should, have put 8 or 9 past Leeds. Man City wasted numerous guilt-edge chances against Saints and Villa had around 50 shots on goal over the last two games. Yes 0-7 is still 0-7, but Liverpool had 8 shots on target and scored 7. There were things we should have done better defensively, but there were no obvious errors as such.

Villa look very good at creating chances (maybe not so good at taking them) and are very quick so we may have to sit deeper on Boxing Day or we might see our defence get unwrapped again. On the plus side we will have a focal point to our attack back in Bentenke (I think we're all finding it strange to be glad to see him back, but there you go) which will allow us to go longer. It's difficult to know whether Roy will give the players a chance to restore pride, or whether he will make changes to show them that if you f*ck up you get benched. One thing is almost certain and that's we're in for a tough couple of games, especially if Vardy's injury isn't enough to keep him out. I think we'll surprise people and come out with at least 3 points though.

You are always negative, you have no guts you always expect us to lose and be relegated.

You have been slating the team performance against arguably the best team in the world on top form , they put up more of a fight than you ever could based on your negativity.
I suggest you take a look at yourself as a supporter and ask do the team really need or want your kind of support.

Rest assured, I have never been accused of a dearth of intestinal fortitude by those who truly know me.

I reiterate that I have been an ardent supporter since the 60s through all the trials and tribulations, travelling the length and breadth of the country in all climes to cheer on the team so I really do not have to question my credentials as a supporter of the club, accordingly your suggestion will go unheeded.

It's good to maintain hope. Villa have 2 games in hand win those and they are potentially top 4, so they'll be fully motivated, I do hope our players have something to prove after the thrashing handed out by Liverpool and make a game of it.
Burnley also have 2 games in hand and a win today against Wolves would see them up to 16th. I can't see us beating Leicester so here's hoping for a couple of draws.

I completely agree that it was an unusual stat that Liverpool scored 7 from 14 shots etc.
However the issue for me was that our team didn't engage with Liverpool like we usually do, we just didn't close them down.. There were no penalties, no blocks and hardly any tackles. The goals were all cleanly scored not deflected or tap-ins from blocks etc.
Really poor, not sure why it was, we were poor from 1 to 11, nobody put in a half-decent display.

Very fair assessment, the defending is very fragile at the moment whereas its was our strength in the past, we seemed to have adopted a more open attacking approach rather than letting teams come at us and as a consequence we are making silly mistakes at the back probably because we have a rather ancient defence that is not fast enough when our opponents attack on the break forcing errors. Alas that is what a lot asked for and as Liverpool showed us that is the price you pay for lack of pace at the back!

Some supporters are eternally optimistic and you are the opposite.

I am pragmatic until the whistle blows and then I am a string of emotional negativity. We Re 5 nil up and I still fret we are going to chuck it away.

Why?

Because everyone puts 10 men behind the ball against them (just like we used to do) but we decided to go toe to toe.

And it's been more entertaining and we probably would still have 19 points with roy bore ball.
