Better football could have been played, more risks could have been taken, the new striker should have been introduced regardless of the state of the game and injuries, we could have filled our boots against a team that were there for the taking...

Really?

Back in the real world, that's a good win against a team we were evenly matched with. We were disciplined and tactically mature, relying on the (now two) individual matchwinners we have to make the difference rather than overcommitting and leaving ourselves open. Of the few chances made, we made better ones than them, and could have killed it off when Zaha hit the bar.

All good. Not great, but good.

I don't know whether others had different pictures from the stream I had, but Wilf seemed conspicuous by his absence from the goal celebration. And I think I've noticed that before (though there have hardly been many goals to celebrate). My impression is that he doesn't seem that thrilled when he scores himself either. Still, if he keeps playing as well as in today's second half, who cares?

Wolves were there for the taking and glad we delivered. Clean sheet to boot! Big three points

Agreed Wolves were there for the taking. I am glad we obliged. I can enjoy my weekend for a change. Shame Wilf didn’t get that second.

Delighted with the win against a poor Wolves team.
Batshuayi hugely disappointing, Riedewald impressive.

Fully agree Willo, a win is a win so lets enjoy the moment as we do not get many of them these days!

A nice win. Let’s get off Roy’s back now. He changed personnel and the formation and got it right. He’s a proper manager and I’m glad he’s ours.
Here are the ratings:
Guaita 7, Clyne 6, Kouyate 8, Dann 7, Van Aanholt 6, Ayew 8 (MoM), Luka 7, McCarthy 6 (Jairo 7), Wilf 8, Eze 8, Batshuayi 4.

PVA still worries me. Especially after Traore came on second half. PVA seemed clueless time and again as Traore skipped passed him for fun. After being nutmegged, PVA sat so far off that Traore said "thanks" and just had a free cross.

Yep agree Ayew worked his socks off today, great performance, he is so much better than Benteke in departments!

Townsend only gave the ball away 4 times this week, which is a great improvement on the last 2 matches. Seems Roy has figured out that limiting him to 10 minutes helps keep the number down.

Well played Jairo - should be in every week. Only one of our midfielders who can pass.

Absolutely mindless !

I suspect something was said, shame refs don’t pick up on it. However at that time of game, laugh it off and just say 1-0
