We don't have the FBs/WBs to play 3 at the back attackingly, i think that a regular keeper playing all the time will help, chopping and changing Guaita and Butland was a mistake, they are so different. with Johnstone playing all the time its better to establish a understanding.

Hopefully the transfer will go through this week to allow him to have a full preseason with the squad. I also wonder if this transfer will open the gates for other players to move on from Palace!

Butland didn't only play when Guaita was injured. Yes he was the cup keeper but he also played some PL games when Guaita was fit.

Neither Guaita nor Butland are comfortable with PV's system of playing out from the back. Johnstone, though, is likely to be better in that system.
