Potter likes options and to chop and change tactics and personnel. We roughly have a first eleven (if you can call it that). We have no options in defence or midfield worth mentioning. We have maybe one or two options up front (none of them that good). There's no way he would fit in here or come here.
If we were to start a bad run, Dyche is the type we need. I'd also accept Derry as an interim. Currently, all a bit moot as we have PV. He hasn't done that bad with our rubbish squad. However, they need to work much harder if PV wants to be here next season. We can all see the lack of work rate and commitment in certain games. Palace fans tend to jump all over that.

No, I think he is a good coach but he managed Brighton.

Mullery was never accepted.

In contrast to which, I give you Glenn Murray.

Mullery wasn't accepted because of the coins and the basic, simple fact that he was a w***er. His bad "relationship" with us was personal, not simply that he managed Brighton. That isn't the case with Potter.

I'm not saying I'd want Potter here. Not at all sure about that. But I don't think your reasoning is relevant.

Sydenham by birth. Selhurst by the Grace of God.

I thought about this just recently.

But I'm not sure Chelsea would want to sack him. Isn't he on something like 6 year contract and brought his backroom staff with him.

Would cost a massive amount to change the mgt.

Plus the fact that Parrish would not pay out to bring in his entire backroom staff.

are you saying poor old Chelsea cannot afford to get rid of him?

Just shows how tin pot we are that we aren't able to afford or integrate Brighton's ex coaching staff...

Exactly. Mullery is the most horrible of individuals I can remember at Palace; certainly as manager. Potter seems like a pretty decent, humble bloke with good ideas. He may well not work at Palace for the footballing reasons others have said, but I don't think the Brighton connection should be a significant consideration in any decision-making.

It's moot anyway, as PV's not going anywhere.

There was also a little bad blood between Venables and Mullery

Enjoying getting up later and not having someone who knows better than me (apart from the missus of course).

I’m sure all Brighton fans would be bursting with rage if Potter was installed as Palace manager………But it would be very funny.

Amusing it may be, but hope it never happens.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

Brighton under Potter finished 15th and 16th in his first 2 seasons.

Patrick Vieira has come in for criticism this season, I do not know if Potter faced 'Shot and shell' in his second campaign.
I don't strike up conversations with Brighton supporters about their club nor do I peruse 'North Stand chat' !

Bit of an odd thing to say..!!

My experience from working with psychologists n relation to detecting deception - is that someone who denies something before being accused of it - generally means the opposite.!!

Just saying..,!!

I can assure you they're still plastic and crap. Any being 'above us' is purely dumb luck.
