Clinton Morrison
Palace got back to winning ways against QPR by beating them 2-1, to go fifth in the table and opening up a seven-point gap above Cardiff in seventh place, writes Peter Gillman.
But after dominating the match for almost an hour they let Rangers back in and had to withstand a siege to hang on to all three points.
Morrison lashed Palace ahead in the third minute, picking up a Ward header and winning a tussle with a Rangers defender before hitting a cross-shot past keeper Jones from 10 yards out.
McAnuff made it two on 31 minutes with a goal created by Dougie, who had replaced Macken after just 15 minutes. The Doog made a long run down the touchline before cutting into the area and crossing to McAnuff, whose shot squirmed under Jones.
Palace started the second half strongly but Furlong got Rangers back into the game on 55 minutes with a precision downward header from 15 yards. The game swung from end to end and Dougie and Clinton both wasted glorious chances.
Rangers pressed strongly in the last ten minutes and Kiraly had to make several brave saves among a ruck of players to preserve the Palace win.
