It's all gone to Pot

November 11 2006

Peter Taylor

Peter Taylor

Peter Taylor's job is hanging by a thread after the Eagles crashed to a 1-0 defeat at home to Stoke City.

Palace dropped to 20th in the Championship after an awful run of two wins in the last 15 matches.

Taylor recalled Jamie Scowcroft, Michael Hughes, Mark Hudson and goalkeeper Gabor Kiraly.

It was typical that Aston Villa midfielder Lee Hendrie, who snubbed Palace for a loan move to Stoke, ran the show for the entire 90 minutes.

He set up Darel Russell to rifle the ball past Kiraly for the only goal of the game on 37 minutes.

It was only the Potters' second away win of the campaign and surely Taylor has to go now or Palace face a battle to stay in the division.

Palace: Kiraly, Granville, Hudson, Cort, Butterfield, McAnuff, Hughes, Soares (Freedman 60), Kennedy, Scowcroft (Kuqi 70), Morrison.

Not Used: Flinders, Lawrence, Fletcher.
