Crystal Palace are through to the last 16 of the FA Cup after beating Southampton away 3-2.

Marouane Chamakh hit two goals on his return to the side to help Palace into the fifth round for the first time in five years.

The Saints drew first blood as Graziano Pelle's close-range finish from a James Ward-Prowse corner put them ahead on nine minutes.

Just two minutes later, Palace equalised when loan man Yaya Sanogo has a shot parried by keeper Fraser Forster and Chamakh put away the rebound.

The hosts regained the lead only five minutes afterwards with a Scott Dann own goal after the defender turned Ryan Bertrand's cross into his own net.

But Palace levelled again on 21 minutes as Sanogo grabbed his first Eagles goal by cooly slotting in Wilfried Zaha's pass.

Chamkah put Palace into the lead for the first time six minutes before half-time by breaking in behind the Saints defence and rifling past Forster.

Palace survived pressure from Southampton to hold on for the victory to make it four wins from four under new manager Alan Pardew.
