Yes, at this point any kind of political shake up or reset could only be a good thing when compared to the current set up. Like you say though, the system is set up in such a way to reject serious change.

Absolutely. And makes what happened with Johnson and his cronies even more despicable.

With the funerals being the event that loads of people I know are genuinely furious at. Being denied the opportunity to attend them due to Covid whilst they are knocking back the booze in Whitehall.

Indeed. With some maybe the passage of time diminishes what took place, but imagine if people knew this was happening at the time of these sacrifices. The whole thing beggars belief.

I think Boris will do a Blair and just not go....what was it...a million marched over the war and basically nothing happened. Mind you the media loved him.

I could be wrong but I think the media will see the limit of its power here.....normally they get what they want but I just can't see Boris going....but either way it will be fascinating.

He certainly doesn't come across as one to leave without a fight. Then again he doesn't appear to have much enthusiasm for the job either.

Maybe fighting is the 'no lose gamble' move in a position like this though, and it's not like he ever admits fault, which would be implied if he stepped aside.
