Team news

DOWIE is set to make changes to the starting line-up after the disappointing 3-1 defeat at Portsmouth last weekend.

Julian Speroni is likely to keep his place in goal despite a shaky start to the season but defender Gonzalo Sorondo and striker Nicola Ventola are in the squad and will be pushing for a starting role. Both players are on a season loan from Inter Milan.

Fitz Hall is likely to move into his preferred central defence postion with Michael Hughes replacing him in the middle against his old club.

Danny Butterfield (thigh) and Mikele Leigertwood (medial knee ligaments) are still out, while Wayne Andrews (knee) is a week away from fitness.

City have yet to register a point on their travels this season and boss Kevin Keegan has been widely tipped to lose his job should they not win.

He will be without the injured Steve McManaman, while Trevor Sinclair is doubtful - Antoine Sibierski will take his place if he's not fully fit.

One to watch

Shaun Wright-Phillips

Manchester City's top scorer

Nicolas Anelka - 3 goals

Manchester City's bad boy

Richard Dunne - 1 1

Palace old boys

Sun Jihai - 14/08/98 - 31/05/99

Son of the Palace, England and Arsenal legend Ian Wright, Shaun Wright-Phillips is the greatest young up-and-coming talent that England has to offer alongside Wayne Rooney.

He can play right-back or right-wing, but he is definately one of the fastest players in the Premiership, making up for his lack of height and body weight.

Since joining Man City in 1998, Wright-Phillips has gone from strength to strength and this culminated in his performance for England against Ukraine in August this year where he scored a fantastic goal and assured everyone of his bright future.

He will cause major problems and with Nicola Anelka and Robbie Fowler up front we may have more problems than people think.
