Get comfy, get the popcorn and watch this very entertaining saga play out.

Faiza Saheen on Newsnight just now, boo hoo

She's mentioned her baby more times than Starmer has mentioned his Dad was a toolmaker

For Lloyd Russell-Moyle the tactic seems same as used against the Ilford South prospective candidate in 2019 to enable the selection of Corbyn acolyte Sam Tarry

Labour infighting will be good viewing

Extreme wings of mainstream parties lose votes. You need to command the middle ground to win. This is as true of the Tories and the right as it is of Labour and the left. Labour though seems to understand this better and actually be doing something about it whilst the Tories are in danger of being swallowed up by their extreme wing after an election disaster and fading into obscurity as a consequence.

Actually Great leaders move the middle ground to them e.g. Attlee and Thatcher who both changed what was considered the political norm.

None of the current crop of leaders can be considered in that league.

The Tories will lose this election because they have moved to the left. They certainly will fade into obscurity (or join the Lib Dems - they deserve each other) unless they become Conservatives again.

Starmer gets an attaboy from me for everyone of this group he manages to get deselected

Interesting observation from a political observer today, if you want to punish the Conservatives re-elect them and make them clean up their mess.

When French Conservatives decided to punish the party in 1981 by not voting for them they got the unmitigated disaster of Mitterand

I think its more to do with stupidity.

Lies.
Partygate.
Giving contracts to mates and family members.
Do as I say not do as I do.
Electing Liz Truss then getting rid in record time when they realize its a cluster f***.
Reducing the top rate of tax (utter stupidity) and then U turning.
The list goes on and on.

Many on that list are common to whatever government is in power.

Partygate would not have happened without Covid and the ill thought out lockdown provisions

Liz Truss would not have happened without Partygate and Johnson's resignation

Sadiq Khan has given out contracts and jobs to mates etc

All MP's employ family members

They are all heads in the trough these days

Everything that Starmer does is designed to reassure the markets not to capital flight once taking power.

People have short memories and the experience of Labour before Blair was whenever Labour would take power the serious investment money would leave the country as essentially they knew Labour were coming for them.

This is the great lie about modern Labour governments.

The lefties think they are going to get economic refocus and redistribution when what they are really doing is just swapping the deck chairs on the Titanic.

Don't get me wrong....if you're a fan of the left's social stuff of viewing white males as oppressors and fetishizing low achieving minorities. Promoting trannies and finding arguments to support girls cutting their breasts off and men in dresses then this will be a big boost for you.

However, what I'll be watching is those voting Labour this summer is the usual programming.....Politicians finding out that their power is limited and that their real bosses (market/media leaders) decide more than they do.

I think the way that Abbott has been treated by the Labour leadership is pretty shabby. They could have dealt with this many months ago and yet it is obvious they no longer want her as an MP.

Now that said it does seem that she is not well and had been ill for a number for years. Assuming that this is true she should not be standing as an MP as she is conning her voters by taking a job that she is unable to do due to ill health.

I agree it's shabby and that she should have packed up years ago.

That does not in any way excuse her behaviour over the years.

Yes, I know she has received vile abuse over the years, as have many MP's of all races.

Well, it's no excuse but she's certainly given out a fair amount of racial commentary herself down the years.

So if the shoe fits......in her case usually on the wrong foot.
