Oh how about shops that don't put prices on things? So you have to walk up to the counter with the doll (or whatever you are buying) and say "how much for party Barbie with interchangeable hairdo?" and they say "£49.99" and you have to do the British thing and pay twice what you think it was worth because it'd be too embarassing to say "well that's f*cking outrageous" and storm out. I'm pretty straight-forward and just walk out if things aren't priced correctly. Consumers' market these days - no need to accept poor standards. Shop assistants just talking to each other about 'last night' does annoy me though. On the other hand, their low wages also annoys me.

I hate being asked "can I help you with anything?" when you literally just walked into the shop. I actually avoid shops where they are on your back the whole time. Phone shops are amongst the worst. I needed a new phone charger the other day but I walked past four of them because I could see the predatory staff lurking in the shadows waiting to hassle me. I ordered one off Amazon in the end.
