I agree totally, but then it should be up to the Northern Irish people to decide and not a London MP.

The Northern Irish are a lot more religious imo than we are. And nearly half want Irish Unity (Where in Ireland you have to travel and pay for an abortion elsewhere, usually the UK).

Chancellor just advised that there will be funding for women in NI to have abortions. Great to see a cross party agreement for once.

We both agree she lied then.
Why isn't she being called out on it.

Politics is the art of being economic with the truth.

You should know, you work for these people.

Nick I always found that NUT acronym mildly appropriate.....As in anyone going into the profession needs their 'nut' examining.

I jest....teaching is just one job in many that has suffered pay-wise. But I read one interesting statistic...since 2010 teacher pay has fallen by some 15% in real terms. In contrast MPs have taken a 15.6% pay rise since 2010.

I understand how the financial crises hangover has affected both private and public sectors. Unlike yourself I factor that reality in. I understand that the realpolitik of how economics works meant that this would result in contraction and that this was always going to be the case if jobs and capital were to remain here.

However MPs raising their pay has really stuck in my gut ever since they enacted those pay rises.

A ten percent rise in 2015...albeit with excepted changes to expenses and a 1.3 rise the two years since.

Note of point, politicians are not allowed to lie to parliament, they can mislead, omit or be deceived, by directly lying is not allowed.

NUT are amalgamated with the ATL leading to a new union the NEU.

Quite why it's named after a krautrock band...
