Something doesn't ring true. The decision to fire DeB seems to have been taken quickly - unlike SP. So presumably it was the Yanks. Maybe SP didn't agree. Also his defence of his own record and the bit about all sticking together on Twitter was unusual for him.
I hope this doesn't mean SP has had enough. Given the stick he has had from all sides we couldn't blame him really.

Tut tut Emma....pretty much wall to wall progressives at the BBC as it is.

Still, I'm glad for you.....Palace needs a communist voice...Out into the streets!....let's nationalise the club! Shoot the owners!

For various reasons that I won't bore you with, yesterday was the first time I've watched us play this season (I know, I'm a JCL, Plastic etc. etc.) but here is my view;

I have always backed SP but in this instance, I think serious questions need to be asked of his chairmanship, not for sacking FdB but for hiring him in the first place.

I actually think the sacking is the right decision. As someone else said earlier, the team selection yesterday was, frankly, bizarre. As soon as I saw that Chungy was starting ahead of Luka I thought we'd struggle. And then, to bring on a couple of youngsters (no disrespect to them as they did their best) ahead of key players?? It was like watching a pre-season friendly! Yes, we played quite well and deserved to at least draw the game but I thought Burnley were very poor opposition and it would've been a different story against anyone half-decent.

I don't know what's gone on in the background with FdB and the players but I thought he sacked himself with that team selection and Chungy put the nail in the coffin after about 2 minutes. He shouldn't be anywhere near the squad and Punch' should be on the bench at best. He was worse than Chungy and that's saying something!

With the time it took to hire FdB and the fact that he knew that he would want to change our style of play, I'd have expected SP to at least back him in the transfer window but I think he was afraid to give him any more money (Sakho aside) because he'd already made up his mind after 2 games that he didn't like or rate FdB.

So, hiring FdB was a very costly mistake and very poor from SP. Hopefully, it won't cost us our PL status. At least we've got time to turn it around now.

Excellent post.....though I don't know about serious questions...as we need this guy to stay there.

We are a laughing stock
SP didn't give FDB enough time
He should never have hired FDB
He was pushed into it by the Yanks
He is an egomaniac
The tea lady never liked FDB from the day he ordered coffee
Roy is so past it we are certainties for relegation
Roy was always rubbish
Freedman is also rubbish
Sammy Lee would be rubbish
We should have had Dyche
Only the fans wanted Sakho
We are all going to stop watching

Justifiable stick. It won't be long before the media start referring to us as Crystal Parish.

Throughout the whole anti Parish debate in the last couple of weeks on HOL I have remained either neutral or supportive but no longer can I support a chairman that clearly has no clue what he's doing.

To post on Twitter that we should all stick together and then to sack the manager the following morning is symptomatic of a chairman who isn't in full control of his marbles let alone a football club

It not just what happened with FDB its a whole catalogue of goof's by SP over the seasons we have been in PL, clearly out of his depth should do a Holloway and admit it and appoint his successor to run the club!

It's been a massive learning curve for us all tho ... SP included. Until we start work on our ground we will not be a viable investment for the billionaire investors that everyone wants. FDB was a punt and a mistake ... but SP acted fast as learnt from the Pardew debacle. So fair play to him ...

No one knows what actually happened and he would not have gone if he had the players right behind him ... simple! No way ...

As someone else just pointed out ... if it can happen to Jose @ Chelsea it can happen to anyone ...

Anyone vaguely surprised that the BBC are ringing Nick....probably up there with the most left wing and divisive voices on Hol....to give his view on this?

It's all so deliciously typical.
