I understand what you are saying, regardless what he gets paid he still is a father of a new born and if he is a doting dad family over work works for me,

I wonder if footballers who decide to have a family during the season are willing to waive their wages for the week that they would prefer to spend with their family rather than make themselves available to play

I got paid when i was off when my 2 was born, so what is different, why should he give up his wages,or are you a hard nose manager that thinks family's come second to work

There is a huge difference between a wage slave and a highly paid footballer.

It is common knowledge that Maplins could well be about to go bust. If the Finance Director decided to take some time off now to be with his family how do you think that the thousands of Maplins employees that could well lose their jobs would feel about it

He gets paid for 38 league and a few cup games a season , not to train. To play matches. If his baby is healthy, what will he miss in 4 hours? F*ck me he’s asleep for 8 hours a night.
And before you say it, no he shouldn’t be up doing night feeds, he’s the one that works and needs to be on the ball (literally) at work. Im sure his Mrs isn’t doing 10 hour shifts at her local Toby Carvery.

I didn’t get up in the night with my kids, Im self employed, my mrs doesn’t work. I reckon life would be more stressful with a new born and no where to live.

She wouldn't be living in luxury without the huge wage he is earning, which relies on him being fit and available, and actually there at the match even if unavailable, especially as captain. Captain ffs.

No wonder stars in their twilight years treat us as a joke. 3rd baby, 3 days ago. No worries lad, you stay away while the club is battling for survival. Captain ffs. Do you reckon he'd be the same if it was the league cup final?
