Political group from within the EU parliament pushing for greater expansion of 'hate speech' laws to outlaw and criminalise any criticism of migration.....looking for blinding agreements at the UN level.

If only Orwell was alive to see what's happening in Europe now.

Many of those who voted remain thinking that the EU project was going to be some far off distant project that was only an economic thing and wouldn't affect them.....I suspect that some of them are starting to see that differently.

Here's a conspiracy theory for you.
Mrs.May does her level best to sell the deal that has been agreed by the EU, knowing full well that the Commons will reject it. She announces that despite her best efforts she has failed and this show of no confidence gives her no option but to resign. The "big beasts" in the Conservative party are mainly Brexiteers and consequently one of them will take over as PM. The deal is then thrown back at the EU and they are told thanks but no thanks, and that we shall just leave on the 29th March 2019.
This will confound the Remainers because there will be no chance of a General Election or a Peoples vote.
Unlikely to happen, but nothing surprises me the way things are. By the way I live in Maidenhead and Mrs. May is my MP.

Nice catch.....I like a bit of pedantry myself.

Humour is an area where the Brits lead the world and give it generously.

Sadly, post Brexit, there will be quotas. It is well known that Germany can only tolerate a small volume and needs space to develop its indigenous 'toilette' genre.

Assuming we leave without a deal that means we control our borders. So if a lorry load of drugs for the NHS turns up at the border why we would we not let it through?

In the longer term if we no longer belong to the European Drugs agency that may impact our exports and delay the licensing and importation of new drugs in the UK. However I don't get why there would be a short term issue unless customs create it. I would assume that the government will give them instructions on what can and can't come into the country.

It's just another aspect of Project Fear, rather like all the drinking water bollocks. Having to resort to manifest bullsh*t is evidence of the paucity of reason in their arguments.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

Not really conspiracy theory but not quite in line with most commentators

Mrs May won't resign.

The lack of agreement will cause market melt-down. She will go back to Brussels and get one or two additional benefits, then take them back to Parliament

The theory runs that everyone will be so spooked they will then have to support the deal. Let's see.

I just don't see a no deal Brexit, the amounts of money involved are fearful.

It's true....mind you I heard a rumour that a German did actually laugh once....but on further inspection it was downgraded to a melodic cough.

Sorry I don't understand your post. I asked a serious question its not a trap and I made the point that it is the media that are saying this will be an issue. As far as I can see it will only be an issue short term if the government / customs makes it one.

However others may know better which is why I asked.

I am guessing you have never been involved in international logistics

As an ex truck driver I can confirm that the relative bureaucracies won't cope well.

I'm loving the conspiracy theories on the Brexit timeline.

However unlike how I see most conspiracy theories, in this case....I wouldn't be at all surprised if one of those theories proved to be correct.

I don't like this deal and would not vote for it. However if I was a pragmatic politician and could only change one thing it would be the ability for the UK to exit this implementation phase without the approval of the EU.

You might persuade more MPs if the deal had a hard exit date after which it is either replaced by a free trade agreement or the UK goes WTO rules. You could then argue that a ticking clock gives both sides an incentive to agree a new deal. As for the bits of the current deal they don't like you could argue its only 2 years and then we are done.

If May was to offer that she might just get it through.
