Compared with the old gangsters Noades and Waite he is a paragon of fair dealing. You need to give your head a serious wobble describing "Waite" (I'm assuming you mean Arthur Wait) as a "gangster". The man gave Palace everything he possibly could, and I am pretty confident others would see that the same way.
Jackson.. Wan Bissaka.... Sansom.. Nicholas.. Cannon.. Guehi.... Zaha... Thomas.. Byrne... Holton.. Rogers.. that should do it.. |

Well said David Percival, without Parish and his initial backers alot on here would have nothing to moan about as there would probably not be a club.

You're right David P. Parish saved our club from extinction and we should be grateful to him. Although, after watching last night's game I can understand some of the comments being expressed on here! Also, from one old fella to another, I agree that Arthur Wait did a lot for the club too. Even if the stand that bears his name is looking a tad out of date now.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

Whatever happened to "we are reluctant purchasers and aren't here for the long term" We have all done well out of Parish's involvement. We still have a club to support and he has made himself another small fortune in the process

Hodgson is the lightning conductor. But not responsible for years of underinvestment in players; the failure to re-invest any part of the AWB monies; hiding behind FFP; new contracts given to serial underperformers; taking huge personal reward out of the club; and the failure to advance the new stand development. Arthur Wait and Ron Noades managed their respective stand developments in 12 months "door to door". It really is not rocket science.
Years of under investment (pre Parish) & 2 administrations are the real cause of us not reaching the heights you’re suggesting! We’re lucky to be in the Prem still and SP should be thanked for that not vilified ...

Be careful what you wish for. Burnley has new owners who have come in and saddled the club with debt to finance the buy out. Furthermore they have used the club's own cash reserves to pay off the current owners. Looks like Sean may have a greatly reduced transfer budget this summer, which is not what he is hoping for. Perhaps he could come and do the rebuild we so desperately need, rather than leaving the funds in the hands of the Hodgesaurus.

Parish overal has done well with a bit of luck, you always need.

He may not have been filthy rich but he was a local man, put everything he could afford into the club and cared about its progress.

The ownership situation is a bit of a mess all round IMO. I don't know much about American sport but my impression is that Harris and Blitzer aren't particularly liked or respected. Possibly the wrong kind owners for us irrespective of any issue they may have with SP's control.
