Old managers never die, they just fade away. If Roy does go, it’ll be at the end of the season, as you say, he’ll be allowed to just fade away rather than get the bullet, as his contracts up. Pointless sacking him now with a little bit of work still to do. As long as we get the new man in early and give him the whole close season to prepare, unlike De Boer

I find it surprising that so many posters are relying on Mateta to come good and save our bacon. If he does it will be by some outstanding solo effort because he won't get any service from a slow midfield who can't hold the ball or bring it forward and whose only accomplishment is sideways/backwards passing or a desperate punt up field. The only 'successful' passes are usually straight to a closely marked man. It seems NOBODY actually wants to get a pass and our spacial awareness is abysmal. Get rid of it quick is the mark of seriously unskilled performers. It happens week after week and depresses me immensely. Unless a major change in personnel and tactics we will lose.

Edited by Willo (12 Feb 2021 11.27am) Maybe but with so many players clogged a defeat perhaps would be tolerated as long as they didn't simply surrender. I'd be happier if, even defeated, he tried a younger player or two. Won't happen of course. Edited by Eaglehamster (12 Feb 2021 4.52pm)
I have now sufficient funds to last me the rest of my life. Provided I don't buy anything. |

From Roy at the press conference today earlier discussing the Burnley game tomorrow, We have lost 17 of the last 19 PL games when Zaha hasn’t played, failing to score in 15 of those 17 defeats. I don't expect us to score tomorrow and if Burnley take the lead we will be 'Up the creek without a paddle'.

So - I’ve had about six beers - I think our Wilfless ageing team might click tomorrow. Burnley won’t create the fear in our defence that Leeds did, Eze will form a partnership with Marteta that Wright & Bright would have been proud of. 2-1

From Roy at the press conference today earlier discussing the Burnley game tomorrow, Clearly, with his advanced years,he is confusing this game with one of our future fixtures against one of the high scoring Manchester sides, absolutely not Burnley!!
