Parish made it quite plain in January that the club was skint although he dressed it up in PR speak so where will the money suddenly come from to make wholesale changes.

My guess is that one or more of the club's major assets will be sold, probably Guehi

Or that wholesale changes won't be made. I don't see the need for them myself, just two additions at the top end of the pitch (or one addition and one replacement presuming Zaha goes).

Admittedly, the top end is the expensive one, but we will be without Zaha's wage, which will help.

I'm afraid that we do need several positions. Most important will be Wilf replacement. I presume Sarr.
Next we need at least an average right back. We also need a left back.
We could also do with another centre back, a central midfielder, a goalie and, obviously a striker. We could also probably do with another winger as, as it is, past Olise you're left with Ayew. The squad is threadbare and, unfortunately, crap. It's only going to get worse without several players coming in.
I will temper this with the thought that one or two youngsters could possibly make it.
There's Ozoh (midfield), Rak-Sakyi (winger), Ademorola (Left back) and Phillips and O'Brien possible. Also Plange and Banks but they seem to have gone pretty quiet. My best guess is Ademorola could do a job, and Ozoh has been near the first team already. That could help us maybe only need three or four.

With Luka, McArthur, Wilf, Tomkins, Ward, Clyne and Fersuson out of Contract its about 450k a week saving, one of the questions is are any of the young players good enough for the bench,
Rak-Sakyi, Phillips, Ozah, Ebiowei, O´Brien, Plange, Matthews or Ola-AdebomI. you would also have Jairo, Ahamada, Richards, Mateta, Johnstone, Ayew and Schlupp. so if we play 4-2-3-1 in would think the Minimum is 3 players,
Guaita
New Guehi Andersen Mitchell
Doucoure Hughes
Olise Eze New
New

also i would like to offload, Edouard on loan or perminate.

Ahamada is very important. If whoever takes over can polish him, it would be huge. Hughes isn't quite a starting midfielder in an upwardly aspiring prem team. He's respectable cover.

No idea how good Ahamada is...very much a Vieira choice. I doubt that Roy will give him playing time this season. One for the future

5 players could be 60-100mil. Kind of the issue really. I have wondered why we didn't use loan slots well this year. Perhaps next season we will. We could have at least one decent loanee which would take some of the pressure off.

Teams mercilessly target our right-backs, so for me that is the second priority. We don't appear to have an academy player ready to step up so that needs addressing. Maybe try and nab Spence from Spuds?

Obviously if Wilf goes that is by far the main priority. We have no one in the squad who has as yet stepped up and shown they can replace the threat he poses. If we stay up, he goes and we don't replace him adequately then it could be a long old season. Maybe we could pinch one of our old youth players, Madueke, on loan from Chelsea as a stop gap if there are no funds?

Mitchell also needs competition. He's looked tired at times this season and in need of a rest. Maybe an older pro could come in who he could learn from as well as competing for the shirt with?

Personally I'm fine with U21 players like Ozoh and Philips stepping up to fill the gaps left by Jairo and Luka if we don't renew their deals; however, we could do with a loudmouth to do the talking on the pitch if McArthur goes.

Surely this is the way forward? Parish said as much when he opened the Academy. It's just a matter of timing, and the close season is a good a time as any.

I agree, But does this mean Roy/Ray/Paddy gets another year, as a completely new manager may have different ideas

If we are really struggling for money, Olina Aina RB, Ben Beriton Diaz CF and Adama Traore W, are all available on Frees, the 450k new income should cover the cost.

This is a decision for the board to make, obviously depending on where we finish at the end of the season. Wouldn't it be grand if they had a 3/4/5 year plan that takes into view where we are, what we have, and where we want to be in that time period.
I expect Roy is out of the calculations, he's a short term gap filler, and not the future. There are a number of experience managers available, and I'm going by what Parish said regarding the Academy, it's the future - how could it not be when ordinary players come in at £30m upwards?
