Well I’ve seen bigger fish ponds and worse fires from a chip pan fire.

We've never seen a Hamas rocket cause this kind of destruction and there have been plenty of misfires previously - if they had this kind of firepower, why have we never seen it before? Failed rocket launches don't kill 500 people.

The Israeli's issued an evacuation order against the hospital, initially claimed it was a bombing they'd carried out(in a since deleted tweet) and have plenty of previous in terms of denying things they've done.

As you say, we don't know for sure either way, but I think one story is certainly a lot more believable.

I have no more certainty over the hospital explosion than anyone else, other than that someone is lying. This is a propaganda war as well as a hot one.

Two thoughts strike me. The Americans claim to have surveillance evidence that shows the rocket was fired by a jihadist group separate to Hamas. If so will they share that evidence with the media and allow it to be independently verified?

Secondly did a rocket cause the explosion or did a small rocket hit an arms dump? It is believed Hamas store weapons and munitions at schools and hospitals believing them to be safe there.
