This story has everything about face....drill instructor shouts at badly performing female recruit....woman starts crying....now they want to sack the instructor for doing his job well.....absolutely crazy.....feminisation of society.....honestly I think this country is on a permanent 1st April Groundhog day sometimes.

I think most soldiers would rather face the enemy than their drill instructor. The armed forces is not for the weak. Soldiers have to rely on the person standing next to them and if they can't cut it out they go. This has happened for centuries its why we have a well respected professional army. We are not all cut out for this I doubt if i good hack it so this soldier either shapes up or changes career.

Yep, it's freaking ridiculous.

The way I read this telegraph article on this is that The disciplinary offence is the filming and releasing of the material that is being investigated, not the shouting itself.

I have zero issues with this being filmed.....how it came to be publicly available though might be a disciplinary matter. However, that isn't what bothers me.

Look at the attitude of the Mirror towards this story.....and Lord Dannat, the former head of the Army.

The cultural zeitgeist in this country is pathetic.

I'm sorry but this just complete bollocks,so what happens if she is a war zone and her battle group is under fire...is she going to sit there blabbing while her mates get killed.

God f***ing help us.

As a lot of you know my son is a serving infantryman,(who is also a battle group leader),I know I wouldn't be happy if she was in his group.

This is exactly why women were never used as front-line soldiers in the past.

If they want equality, they take the sh*t that goes with it or get out!

It's the Dirty Harry syndrome. Society wants the Army to do the dirty work for it, but then criticizes when their behaviour doesn't fit in with civilian life.

Yep, the ubiquitous elephant in the room is that it's a woman. If it was a bloke then the press would just shrug their shoulders - 'that's how uneducated, working class men talk to each other'.

Your thread topic reads "Army wants to sack instructor for shouting" but we don't appear to have any evidence of that.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

Well, it does if you take the former head of the army's attitude as indicative.

However, yes, the title could be more accurate.
