A lovely article in The Guardian.

And at the risk of being accused of being a screaming leftie, The Guardian do regular articles on Palace and in my view their sports journalism should be supported.

Cheers WJK, I stopped reading the Guardian on a regular basis as they tended to be a Manchester (and mainly Moan u) paper.

Enjoying getting up later and not having someone who knows better than me (apart from the missus of course).

Tyrick has made the left back slot his own, he goes unnoticed but he gets those tackles in and rarely gets booked. He is turning into a very fine player indeed.

Great story! Think we have a gem here...along with Olise. This lot reminds me of the previous "Team of the 80s" with Sansom, Gilbert, Hilaire, Murphy & Co.

He is very much noticed by both the fans and the local media and his improvement this year has been well covered

Super lad looking better with every passing month.
The Times has a little feature on Saturdays called 'Under the radar'. The last two weeks have featured Tyrick and Michael Olise!

He is getting better and better defensively... He just needs to be a bit more confident going forward. Its like he hesitates to take people on and doubts his own ability when he clearly has the ability to do it.... I'm sure it will come.

There's always the hope but I wouldn't make it a certainty

Some players simply aren't all that going forward. AWB is a case in point. He has been very poor really as an attacking full back at United for quite a time. That is in the context of a team that enjoyed heaps of attacking position. There were times last season when teams were happily giving him time and space in the attacking third in the knowledge that he presented at best a moderate threat.

The big hope that Vieira and Roberts are simply better coaches than the set up at United. On current evidence I think that's a fair bet.

Not many months ago, lots of posters were demanding the club got an experienced LB in after PvA left, as they thought TM was too lightweight & inexperienced . . .

He's doing just fine. He's a good example of the undervalued benefits of an academy - the creation of solid pros and good squad players.

Not every academy graduate has to be developed into an asset worth tens of millions to be cashed in on. Mitchell is good enough for the Premier league, he's no worse than PvA (he certainly tries harder), and represents £10-15m that we didn't have to spend on a left back.

He's got a nice cross in his locker (Benteke must love him) and even if he doesn't develop to be any better than he is right now, he's been a success.
